Top players for Texas 10 Ball Open

Pleased to see Gorst win here.

After six days of perfect play at Derby City, he had already won the 10ball and had yet to lose a match in any other discipline. Then, however, it didn't go so well. After being eliminated by Lunda in the one pocket, he was the victim of a Filler TPA 1.000 match in 9ball and then lost the bank pool final to Justin Hall in a squeaker. I had a chat with him shortly after the Derby City bank pool final, and could see that, while he was disappointed, his resolve had not weakened. He rebounded impressively at the Texas Open, winning at both 10ball and one pocket. I couldn't be happier for him and wish him continued success.

The 2026 pool year is bound to fascinate us. In 2025, Yapp knocked Fedor and Josh off the top of pool's mountain, rightly named Billiards Digest Player of the Year. Based on what we've seen at Derby City and the Texas Open, both Fedor and Josh seem to have designs on supplanting Yapp at the top of the heap. We are just three weeks away from the onset of the Matchroom major season, which begins in Bosnia at the European Open on March 10. I can't wait!

i wonder what you don’t like about him?

i’ve heard countless terrible pool announcers/ commentators, but jude sounds intelligent and helpful and not overly talkative

i often mute people because i don’t need to hear the table/room sounds, but i never considered it during this gerson/fedor match
Thanks! I guess my commentary style isn't for everyone. I know that most of the audience is smart enough to know about cueing so I usually try to focus on what the shooter is trying to accomplish instead. As well, we try to be entertaining, bringing attention to key moments, especially when a difficult shot is in the forecast.

Anyway, I'm planning on doing more commentary so if there's something you guys think I should work on, please let me know. I can take it.

I thought your commentary was really good. People like to complain...

I listened to the commentary for SVB last 1 pocket match and both matches is in the finals. I thought commentary was way better then some here made it out to be.

The interaction with the chat room gives the commentator a idea of who is following so some commentary while irrelevant to the match is relevant to the chat room.

I think as amateurs they did a fine job and will probably improve. I would listen to them again.
