What cloth can take alot of abuse?
ie: spilt beers, cig ashes, and a whole room full of bangers

Thanks

Milliken Super Pro

Though it is a tournament grade worsted cloth, the Milliken Super Pro is treated with a process they call Spillguard. This prevents liquids from penetrating and therefore staining the cloth. Unlike many other chemical treatments, Spillguard does not affect the play of the cloth at all, and it also protects against alcohols such as beer, liquor, and even red wine. The only liquid I have found that will stain it is Kool-aid.

Now it is important to note that if someone spills something on your table, you don't want to let it sit for hours before cleaning it up, as it probably will stain if you don't tend to it in a timely manner.

There is a small strip club close to where I work that installed this cloth on their 7' bar box and it stayed there for 3 years. The owner would have let it go longer, however some of us hang out there and insisted that he change the cloth. You can image the abuse a bar box in a small strip club would get, and I think that speaks volumes to the durability of the cloth in conditions that are less than desirable for league, tournament, or serious players.

When the cloth was changed, he ended up with Artscape on his table, which is cloth of the same specs as the Super Pro, only with some design on it. Here is an image of his newly recovered table -

We designed the Simonis 860HR to be the Simonis bar table cloth, as it'll take one hell of a beating and still look and play good. Beer stains and such need more "management control" or woolite and water:wink:

Looks like they did a strip show on the table with some whip cream..... wish I could have seen that.

I'll be going through there tomorrow late afternoon sometime- I'll give you a call and see if Drew is around.

I've got enough different felt samples with me, maybe I can show the difference better than explaining.
Although mentioning "Nationals" might not hurt either....

According to Championship - Tour Edition is the most durable cloth sold.

I put the Tour Edition on my table about a year ago and it's wearing very well. I shoot nearly everyday and am not real kind to my cloth practicing jumps and an occasional masse'. But of course I don't allow any drinks or ciggy butts near my table either.

Nothing personal Robin but regarding worsted cloth let's dispel the myth about "wear".
Marking of the cloth is not wear. Most peeps think if it looks like crapola it's worn - it is not.
This is usually the case in a commercial room, not on a home table which should get
many years of use before actual "wear" is evident.

You can gauge wear when balls start to run funny, ball action degrades, balls start hopping over divots
made by miscues and expert masse shots, etc. Believe it or not, weekly cloth maintenance will greatly
extend the life (and look) of any cloth.

cloth

I have installed many many different cloths at pool rooms and homes, the cloth that is the best for wear/tear and not showing ball marks is gray simonis 860..tour edition shows ball marks and balls tracks big time....I have picture proof if anyone needs it...

P.S- A good quality set of pool balls is a must on any table for accurate play and less wear...
