I'm also NOT talking about sloppy 9 ball luck shots, we've all had those, I would like to hear about the ones where you had to call both ball and pocket. You know the kind, skill shots where you were hooked or didn't have anything else to try so you lined up a shot and the pool Gods must have been looking down on you with that one.![]()
OK, I just want to see what everyone thinks is difficult and to what extent people are willing to try and go for it.
And PLEASE I don't care to hear about how this magical shot won you the tournament or beat some guy out of all his savings, those stories have been posted in other threads.
I'll start it out with one of mine that I made in 8 ball. I know it doesn't look like much, but I was relieved when I made it. I forgot where the 8 and other two stripes were, but I only had three solid balls left. I missed my position on the 5 and left myself in a spot where I could only see the 6 ball and there were no open pockets for it. I looked at hitting the 6 into the 3 and banking it cross corner but the 5 was in the way, so I called the 5.

At nine ball, the one ball stopped on the head spot and the cue ball stopped on the headstring about an inch from the one ball. Nothing to shoot at, and no good safety. The nine ball was on the side rail about a diamond from a foot pocket. I played the nearly-full masse shot from the one to the nine and made it.Slowhand said:I'm starting this thread to hear about some of the lowest percentage shots that members have called and made. I hooked myself good one ball before the eight; the ball I had to hit was a couple of inchs from the side pocket, and I had to kick to hit it.
Instead of calling it in the side pocket it was next to, I called the opposite side, because the way I had to hit it, looked like it was going to bank. So I played it, one rail kick, to one rail bank clean in the side. The whole bar went crazy, everyone likes watching the games I play in hopes I screw up; I always have the entire establishment cheering for my opponents when they make any shot, no matter how crappy thier shape ends up.
Im also proud to make a few wing shots on a 12' english billiards table; with the rounded pockets and all I made a wing shot the first time I tried it. What a sound and feeling that is!

You gonna post the shot?DougT said:sometimes you have little choice but get creative;
This shot was in a league match, I was playing pretty sporty, and finished the 4th or 5th game with this 8ball. Pretty much stated how the match was going to end up. Probably played 8 or 9 games in that match. Fun when they work, I'm sure I wouldn't make it 1 out of 20.
