Tournament Directors just don`t get it

Its winter. There should be more tournaments this time of year. I`m from the southeast, just take a look at the tournament schedule for the next three months, pitiful. Looks like the directors would have more foresight. What am I saying? I forgot to whom I was directing this post.
Thoughts?

Lucky Houston.

We've got Bogies this weekend.

Caspers in San Leon is hosting the NCS qualifier on the 10-11th.

Fast Eddies is in town the next weekend on the 17-18th.

Then Legends is having a big tournament on the very next weekend of the 24-25th.

I can`t put one together. I work for a living and drive 45 miles to the nearest pool room. I don`t have any contacts advantageous to putting on tournaments

The overwhelming majority of tournament directors have full time employment. And most of them work more than 40 hours a week.

A poolplayer thinking of himself first?

I am totally shocked.

I am in contact with a popular south eastern tour and trying to get them another event in Florida. If the pool hall is cool with adding a little cash, the tours will come!

Not thinking of JUST myself. Tournaments have lots of participants when theres one available.

could you please let me know where mike janis, tommy kennedy and shannon daulton have full time jobs at? these are the tour directors in the southeast which is where the op mentioned.

Where are they NOT having events? I guarantee you they will go anywhere with a high demand.

Steve,

I am amazed at the tournaments run in the dead of winter in Montana. A majority of the players drive several hundred miles (tournies run Friday night calcutta, Sat, and finish on Sun) in some of the nastiest weather. The turnout for some tournaments are 160 plus players with $5k & $6K ADDED. There is one that has been running 25-30 years with a payout of $25k.

Tournaments

This time of year most people are busy with the holidays. Unless your a fulltime player without responsibilities Oct, Nov, Dec are just slow! Some also don't like to travel as far with wheather conditions. Good luck

A couple of questions.

What were the last 3 tournaments that you have played in? When and where were they held and how well did you do?

Thanks

Kevin

race2-9 and Kevin

Race 2-9...Its not Oct Nov or Dec. Those months had a few tournaments. My original post concerned the next three months.
Kevin ...I last played in Greenville SC in GSBT did not play well was out of the money. Before that played In Viking events in Atlanta. Cashed twice.
I am An older played and most times I do not play at the speed I once did. But I can still defeat good players on occasion. I just enjoy the competition and the camaraderie.
