Tournament Format/No Hotel Rm needed

Bob your correct, each Session I'll redraw new player groups.
PM me Bob, as I'm going to start visiting room owners soon, looking for some suggestions of Good room owners.
Massey recommended, Mr English in Long Beach, I flew out there family time, and had a day for us to talk, his plate was full with family and life coming to and end, so it/we/didn't happen.

If it was easy...everyone woukd do it.

Sometimes I'll flip quarters for 100 a flip just to pass the time.

It's is easy.... a 550 Fargo could easily do better than a 650.
It's why non poker players play TX holdum, they feel they have a better chance at doing well or winning than ANY other poker game with hard core poker player$$$$$$$$.

1 first have a large enough buyin so you dont have too many players and a worth while prize pool. thats why poker has emerged.
2 dont appeal to those looking to save gas money
3 make as you say short sets
4 have t.d. full power to give a loss to any player playing slow. and enforce it. if you play slow dont enter.
5 random doubles seems to make for a fun tournament.

thats a start.

agree. No. of tables is KEY to the op's fantasy. If you've got 64, not a big event, you'd need 32 tables IF all matches started at same time. Not many places have that many. I like the 'idea' of this format but don't see it happening anytime soon. I've been at 32 man events that started at around noon and didn't end til early the next day if that. No. of tables was a factor but not the only one.
Fantasy/dream.... we all have em, and all are different.
Hey Ball.... is one that burped out, why $$$$$$$$$$$$ and pros.

This venues Focus is for the room owner-his customers with out hurting their weekend pm business.
It does just the opposite.
Number of tables in these 1/2 Day events are of no concern, number to places to sit are more of my concern.
This is not a pool tournament for the best players to always win it, more/too much luck from their POV.
It's thee ONLY pool competition.... that I've ever held/witnessed where all the players that got knocked out and didn't make it to the final table.... did THIS.....
All of em... CHEERED the person who just won and knocked the rest out.
NEVER have I EVER seen that happen ANYWHERE....

bill is an ex top world player. and has more experience than almost all here.

his idea has merit. maybe or maybe not mods can be made to work for each individual room. its not an all or nothing idea.
and it isnt something that the best player or players that come from elsewhere walk off with all the money.

Simple answer folks....Chevy Hotel....done it least 50 times...besides you can sleep when you are dead...if there is action I'm playing.

Danny Medina called his old Chevelle the Malibu Hilton. He wasn't any stranger to sleeping in it. My main reason for not hitting the road with him. Choices were the Malibu or my single seat truck. The truck didn't work but I was taller than Danny and thought the Malibu looked a little short in the seat.

I had a dream one night I was traveling tournament to tournament in my Class A motorhome like a boss. The motorhome was real but not the dream lol.

And then I thought it was unreal, I gave it it's own name because of it's new nature. Just played in an 8 ball event at the Wreck Room in Denver.
I'd call the game.
Wild 8 Ball....
Why?
Because....
As long as you hit your designated ball group first, any ball of yours going in counts, shooter continues their inning at the table.

that has been normal 8 ball in action bars that ive played in all around except in the south.
shit in the 8 early and you lose. but only have to call the 8 where it goes, and some places how it goes.

same as 9 ball. as long as you hit your ball first all counts.

those rules in bars evolved because you have to pay to get balls returned. so if you make a ball and want to spot it you have to pay for another full game. only the cue ball comes out when down.
so all balls that fall stay down.

years back 9 ball, when we played shoot out, most places played all balls stayed down except the money balls. kept out arguments.
