In honor of Kerry, lets show off our Zylr cues.. While Kerry didn't make the fanciest cues, the woods he used were beautiful. I'll start things off with my titlist conversion. (pictures courtesy of Marcus)

BEAUTIFUL Z, Todd.
He only made three Titleists as far as I know.
One of them went to a Hollywood special effects person who became a friend of ours.
Here's one with Kerry's famous Z.

Raist's Zylr Titlist

Here is my favorite all-time Zylr - Raist's Titlist conversion. I liked it so much that I asked Kerry to build me a similar one, which he did (the first one in this thread). As Raist said, Kerry was a real pleasure to work with - he spent a lot of time with me on the phone discussing what makes a good playing cue, how to hand-finish a cue, and of course the design of this one, but he pretty much made it the way he wanted. At the time that we discussed this cue, he had two 'in progress' Titlists, but was sick and it was taking a long time to get them built. I know of this one, Raists, the full-splice featured in the last Blue Book, and the other one he had on his lathe - but not sure if that one was ever completed.

I think Raist's was hand-polished, but not sure - it certainly is not as glossy as mine. Both have buckhorn rings and joints, both were made from '50s (or newer) blanks, but his has buckhorn ferrules, where I elected to go with Ivor-X. Also, I got smooth black leather - closest thing I've seen to duplicating the original Hoppe Pros, and his is a beautiful chocolate brown.

Another thing Kerry did that was special: he believed you should be able to interchange both shafts without a difference in play, so both shafts always weighed the same exact amount and had the same exact tone. It's also why he only made one shaft for sneakies - too much trouble and not worth the money to match shafts.

Here's Raist's cue:

Here is a gorgeous Zylr we sold a couple years ago... this cue played lights out.

You got that cue from me, it had a great hit and I had Mike Gullyassy put shaft freeze on one of the shafts. The cue was just a little too stiff and thick for me. The Curly Bubinga really danced under the table lights.

Thanks for sharing Jamie.

Really like this one for some reason.
