Tryed to buy Kamui at SBE?

It wouldn't have surprised me not to be able to buy direct from the Kamui booth and not surprising that installers would be reluctant simply because they don't want to be out when someone wants one installed. Thats why they say come back on the last day.
But to find out that their dealers weren't selling either is surprising.

Maybe you need to try a selection of Tiger Products. They're serious about their procucts too, have a wide selection and sold out of their booth. Afterall you're switching and not sure exactly which tip you want.

Joey I use polyurethane glue on my player with kamuis. They play better than loctite ultra gel imo. Learned this from the Taiwanese players. Only thing is, it cures slower. Not all polyurethane glues are good though. The Taiwanese players use a specific brand. It cost less than USD.50cents for a tube. No luck getting it anywhere near me, I think only in Taiwan they sell it.

Now I have heard it all.

I used Loctite installing my Kamui and it couldn't get any firmer. Maybe the Japanese are trying to promote some kind of glue, I don't know, just like its stupid $35 chalk.

You asked a question, I provided an answer. I was not suggesting you were trying to cut anyone out. I was offering my interpretation of Kamui's perspective. There are many vendors that sell Kamui tips. I remember seeing Mueller, Omega Billiards, Franks Center, among others. I'm sure some of these are distributors for Kamui. I would have tried those. Also, and I could be remembering wrong, I think Seyberts offers free shipping on orders over a certian amount...$50 or $100. If you are buying 6 Kamuis, you should qualify. Also they offer an APA discount, in case that might help you.

I think you haven't quite understood Kamui's position if you believe they "underestimated the need for their tips [at the SBE]". They are NOT selling their tips. The distributors are. Perhaps your discontent would be better directed at them? Predator no longer sells their products directly either, and hasn't for years. They have made an investment in their distributors. If you want a 314-2 shaft at the SBE, Predator will direct you to a vendor. If that vendor didn't bother to bring any of those shafts, whose fault is that?

I hope I don't come off as picking on you. I'm just trying to provide you with the info that will help you make sense of the situation.

So, when I was there 13 years ago, Predator had cues you could try out on the designated practice table. They no longer do this?

Try installing one using polyurethane glue or melamine glue.
It hits different than using CA. Worse if you coat the bottom with thin CA first.

Watch your local Kamui dealer for the New "Kamui Tip Glue" just $30.00 a tube!
It will make your stroke straighter and you English greater!

One of my customers popped a Kamui tip off his new Barrioni shaft.
I don't know who put it on. He asked if I could use the same tip.

I told him that it can be done sometimes. So I put it back on for him perfectly. I have been using Loc Tite Gel for some time now and happy with it.

I use a couple of tricks that other repair men do and have never had a tip pop off with the exception of a break tip. It takes a few extra minutes but worth it.

I did however have one leather break tip pop off on a BK once. I used epoxy and told the owner not to break with the cue for at least 24 hours.

Well, he was down at the hall within an hour using his breaker. Guess whos fault it was and he reminds me of it whenever he can.

Yep Jayman, with a tiny little dob of special glue that you need to use on a Kamui, you can actually feel the difference in hit. Yes you can. And if you are not half deaf like myself, you can hear it too.

Predator does indeed have cues of theirs you can try out on their table. Approximately 5 or 6 years ago, they stopped selling their products directly to customers, and now only sell through distributors. I bought my first Predator shaft at the SBE directly from Predator. I can't do that anymore.

That's it i'm done with Kamui

I went to the Swanee last month Hardtimes Bellflower, they were sponsored by Kamui.

They did not have a booth and there was no one there who had them for sale.
I asked little Al Romero and he did't have them (cue repairman at Hardtimes).

I applaud Kamui for their great marketing program.

How can you sponsor a event and not have them available or have one of your dealers their to sell them.

Going to order some G2's, thanks Kamui for helping me make my decision.

I hear Dennis Orcullo loves them G2's that is not Kamui.

I will be trying G2s as well. The maker will actually sell to anyone that has the money. He even mentioned that I can get some altho I live in Canada.

Yayyyyyyy!

$35 is a rip off. I got mine for $30.
