Did not know if anyone else had seen it .Not a bad movie
,kind of sad .Has Tony Robles in it .Kind of a wierd name for
a movie about pool ?

I saw it. Pool wasn't really the main focus of the movie which was disappointing, but it was still decent. And they really didn't show much interesting 1pocket action at all for it to standout to your average viewer who probably thought it was 8-ball anyways.

They also didn't utilize Tony's skills enough. How awesome would it be to just film him run out 2-3 9 ball racks uncut, which they could never do with actors.

It would take quite a few takes to get a 9-pack on on film from a pro also. Johnnyt

A 9-pack would definitely take awhile to get on film. 2 to 3 run outs wouldn't be that much to ask though.

Possible spoiler

I have to agree, pool was not the main focus, but the bitter child custody battle. To contrast Famke's gritty life and her desperation, the producers could have easily depicted her going back to gambling at poker or sell drugs.

Looks interesting. I guess they play cards in the movie too, thus the name. At least pool is getting some exposure to mainstream audiences and there were a few nice little shots in the trailer.

I think someone took a script and either tried to make it work or took parts out.

SPOILER ALERT>>>>>>>

I didnt understand the ending. Why did she go to the father?? No reason to do so. The kid would have been expected to be in school all day giving them plenty of time.
Also wasnt it the night before or so that the forger told her not to use
a major crossing. The kid had some postcard or something indicating
the spot.

It was an okay movie that probably could have been better. The cards or poker portions being so little yet the name "turn the river" leads me to believe that the script was different then molded by someone who wanted more pool in it.
The sideplot with the Grandmother had no place at all.
