Well, we mustn't leave out an American champion: Dee Adkins from the Buckeye State.

Here's a brief bio taken from the IPT website: If you are looking for Dee Adkins he is either doing one of three things: spending time with his family, working, or at the pool hall. He has been playing since he was thirteen years old and started playing at a professional level at eighteen. His Mom made sure he was at every tournament she could get him too. She always knew his potential and everyone that saw him play also knew he would someday be playing with the pros. Some of his accomplishments that bring a smile to his face are All Around World Champion in Louisville Kentucky, VNEA International Eight Ball and Nine Ball Championships. Dee is, and always will be, a great pillar in the billiard community.

Dee is a humble young man, devoted to his family. In 2003, he suffered a fall from a roof and broke his arm in several places, requiring him to take a hiatus from pool. However, his passion for pool boosted him right back in the saddle again, as he is currently ranked 50 on the IPT tour.

Dee has always been a friend to pool players. He comes from a large family, which may be why he has such a generous heart. He has opened his home to several well-known pro players who experienced unforeseen difficulties in their lives, providing them a place to transition as well as a little good old-fashioned hospitality. To this day, Dee is well respected among his peers. Given a chance, I could see Dee Adkins rise all the way to the top. He's still a young'n, but I consider him a genuine American pool champion.
