Man, I love the colors on those pool balls in the poster. Beautiful, the way they should be. None of that pink, purple, and brown. Long live the purple 4 ball, orange 5 ball, and my favorite, 7-ball red, the jewel-tone colors.

Happy New Year, indeed! 2025, here we come!

Turning Stone is a great event. No, you don't get a field as strong as either Derby City or the US Open 9ball, but there are two things you do get.

First, Mike Zuglan is, in my opinion, the best tournament director in America. His events always run smoothly and on schedule.

Second, of all the hotels to which my pool travels take me, Turning Stone is my favorite.

If you've never been to the Turning Stone event, you have missed something worthwhile.

No offense meant but upstate NY in January is just not a place i'd ever go to. Sure its a good event but that kind of winter action i'd have to pass on. I'll be sweatin on-line with my bourbon and a stogie.

Sissy. I've spent several enjoyable winters there (about 20 miles from Turning Stone). The coldest it ever got was -35F. Think fun things like snow forts and sledding. I even liked to shovel snow. You need to get out more.

Turning Stone is a great venue, and it's fine in winter.

Great minds think alike. It is also my favorite hotel. We stayed in -- I think it is called -- the "Tower," the newer section. I also like that everything is under one roof and you don't have to leave to find something. Coffee bar on the first level. And for the folks who like games of stake, like mine does, it's heaven. One year, Keith got a committee going to shoot craps, and he held the table for 30 or 40 minutes. We won 15 thousand. Everybody surrounded the table, even strangers. The men in suits were not happy. kept changin the dice. We ended up getting our rooms compted for that weekend. Great memory at Turning Stone for us!

Here's the Dice Throwing Committee: Keith, feeling no pain; Dennis Hatch's Uncle Mark; Ryan McCreesh; Sugar Shane—I can't remember the kid's name, but he was underage. The casino folks ended up asking him to leave by the end of the day.
