Turning Stone Classic XXX

My old buddy Don Steele is entered.
I’d like to see him win it and make history.....
...not many 83 yesrold champions about.

Man, Luc Salvas is in it. I wish I was going. I love watching him play. He's also really fun to be around. :)

We love running into Don and his lovely wife. They travel around the country in an RV and enjoy pool very much.

I don't know when I took this photo or where, but it's Don and Mark Jarvis.

Awesome pics JAM!! I think you would love attending this one. Its loaded with a lot of "old school" players including Hopkins, Archer , Strickland , Loree Jon, Steele, Salvas !!!! I know one more player your close to that could have made the trip. Would have caused a major buzz at the Stone

I believe Dechaine has been banned by Zuglan.
Not sure if the ban is still in effect.

Sossei's absence is unusual. His home base is not far from Turning Stone.

Jeremy won't be attending due to job commitments.

I don't know if Mike is still on the outs with the Joss Tour or if maybe his job is also taking precedence over this event.

Too bad but very understandable if that's the case.

Mike has won Turning Stone and Jeremy has come in 2nd two times.

best,

What happened to Morra is he still competing

John and his dad, Mario, both had been playing recent Turning Stones but don't see either on this years roster.

John was playing opposite-handed and didn't look like he was missing a beat in a streamed event from Canada a couple months ago.

sure would have liked to see him at this TS, as well.

Pat Fleming is playing in this tournament? Wow! I'd love to see him shoot. I know he used to be a pro. Somebody take some photos.

I have you covered, Jam.
Been really busy with work and other stuff, so I've been pretty scarce on AZ lately, but I'll be there faithfully on Saturday and Sunday with camera in hand. I might make a photo/update thread as Stu and I will be holding court ring side.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Pat in action so I can check that off the seeing-him-play-live bucket list. One of these days, Keith has to make an appearance so I can check him off the list as well. What do you say? January? The return of the Earthquake Turning Stone XXXI?

One of the biggest and best tournaments at least on the East Coast starting on Thursday with a unique field. You have the legends coming out like Hopkins , Loree Jon Hasson , Corr , Archer and Strickland mixed with some of the best in the world right now Shane, Billy Thorpe and Shaw just to name a few. But what I like are the strong regional players that make up the majority of the players list that want to make a statement and show that they belong.

Just days away guys let's hear some predictions out there on not only who walks away with the hardware but who you feel might be a big surprise

I believe this is the first turning stone appearance by Petri Makkonen, the other half of team Finland with Mika from the world cup of Pool.
Petri is a strong player and has had some good appearances on the euro tour as of late (didn't he just win or come in 2nd at one?).
He's a strong player, and I think he might make some waves. Expecting to see him hanging around on Sunday.

I hear Syracuse is lovely in January.

If JAM could get Keith to attend TS XXXI I'd drag myself up north for the chance to say hello, as well. :)

Do I have to be a member of facebook? All I see is Al's main page...

and Thanks!

not sure if FB membership is required but if you click the link provided and see Al's main page then the live content should be there - you ,ight have to scroll down just a little and the stream is running.

Nope I got nothing. Gotta be a member of ****ing facebook. That's ridiculous.

My understanding is that Karen’s back is acting up and Dennis didn’t get his entry in to Mike in time. Thorpe had to scramble to get in at the last minute.

Yep, it’s not open....Al either lacks the tech savvy...
...or Z’berg’s got him on the turf.

I can go to Roy’s Basement, also on FB, and watch the Lion playing partner 10-ball...
...wtf...
