two revos, one very slick and smooth, the other is not.

I got my new Revo which is very smooth, a 12.4mm white vault, then a friend of mine left in my house his Revo to experiment with a black vault also 12.4mm

However my Revo being new it is really really smooth and goes very well on my closed bridge with no gloves, then I used his and it feels like his shaft got a lot of greases and does not slide on my hand as well, but I said ok maybe it's just dirty shaft which is also old maybe.

So, the common sense tells anyone to clean the shaft, then I used one of my x4 packages which come with predator shaft that has wipes, and I did use one on my friend's shaft to make it as smooth as my new one, to my surprise it wasn't so smooth even after cleaning, I then even opened yet another package because I thought I did not clean it good enough. But still the same result, my new one still so smooth and slick, his is not to smooth at all.

So I am asking here for the azb pro's, probably you guys would know, did they change anything from the black vault revos to the white vault revos, or do I need to use another method to clean his Revo? i.e. is there any method to make his Revo as slick and smooth as my Revo?

Thanks.

What sort of cleaner did you use? Did you use these?

Well, one possibility is that your friend used fine sandpaper on his shaft. That would have been a mistake.

Without knowing what happened to your friend's shaft, all input is just guessing.

Could be a counterfeit, could be used so much it wore out, could be fried chicken.

No way to tell how the other guy's shaft has been treated/mis-treated. He may have used something that damaged the surface. Every Revo i've seen has been slicker than all get out.

If you polish a carbon fiber shaft it's going to get like the fiberglass shafts: sticky after it gets sweaty and dirty. I don't know if your friend took the finish down or not but it doesn't get that way from normal use. I still have one of the original Revo's with hundreds of hours of play on it and it still feels like it did when new.

i know but I mean I dont know what he done to it, and he said that he didnt do anything, probably one of his friends, I know him, he's just the type of guy who leave his stuff with the hand of others just like here, he left his shaft with me, lol.

Some makers don't even recommend using tap water because of the chlorine. It can ruin the finish.

Rick...Me too. Plus, if you use a glove nothing matters anyway!

I don't like gloves at all which is why I went to CF.

People hate that I use powder on wood, now I went CF so that I don't use powder or gloves, in fact my first post here in azb was about powder which I didn't want to use but also I didn't want gloves, if ppl recall I created my first thread asking whats the solution for a guy who hates glove, but also gets complains that I use powder, so I went to CF.
