U.S. OPEN 2026, Frisco, Texas, August 25-30

Do you guys thing the former US Open winners should be seeded in some way, even if they are very low on the WNT 2 year money list? I think they should. We have had former winners playing top current players in the first round, and former winners playing vs each other in the first round.
 
In the Gorst match today I got custom commentary from Mike Sigel. You people need to get out and experience events live. I got to meet Kevin, too.

I wonder if Eklent regrets pointing out Earl's color confusion about the fourth rack. No finger splints for Earl, but just about everything else.

Wow, Sigel is in the conversation for best player of all time. Mike is probably the only player that can be counted as a Top 5 player of all time at both nine ball and straight pool.

I am not sure Earl was better than Mike at any game, though nine ball was very close. Of course, Mike’s early retirement makes the comparison difficult, but even when he retired, he was a top five player in the world.

Last matches tonight scheduled for 8pm local time. Some matches are running about half an hour late.

I know that MS is an all time great.

But you are always talking titles and Earl has the titles........

Earl started playing professionally in 1979 and on top of the titles was the 1 million dollar run.

Earl was never a big straight pool player. There was at least a decade of overlap in their careers.

I believe Earl said that he and Mike played an action match in a barn somewhere, early on.

I wish more people understood this. I mean, is there any player who matches Sigel's combined prowess at 9 ball and straight pool?

he is capable playing at an elite level, but he dogs more balls than a top 4-5 player should. I'm a big fan of Earl- just telling the truth. He is too inconsistent (mainly due to lack of focus)- it isn't just the break
