U.S Team Message To The Public

They read the posts on AZ. Altho they won't admit it, they must put some sort of consideration on the opinions of members, otherwise they wouldn't bother reading and commenting in their news bulletins.
If they received nothing but praise here, they would be handing out props to all the AZ members for their support.
So yes, I believe we do have some pull whether APB and DP want to admit it.
A fool is easily led down a crooked path. Altho Shane may not have to rely on the APB or DP to make his money, he is no fool either.
He did the best thing he could have and that is distancing himself from the Tom Foolery of both organizations.
I watched Shane's facial expressions during his games at the Cup after he sat down. He didn't seem like he was all that into it.
He won the Tar match against Earl and the Turning Stone directly after the Cup. A vast difference here. Not saying that he didn't play well or give it his all, he just seemed a little distant.

Well, I believe CW had the team to win the Cup in 2011. What a great crew he had to manage. He failed.
Yes, as Team Captain it is your duty to get this team to “jump in together and mesh like an experienced team”. Other US team captains have done just that, MAKE them mesh, you now like a captain or leader would do.
And this nonsense about government sponsored billiard programs and a great junior structured farm program I can only say……..FOR GOD SAKE MAN IT’S A RACE TO 6. WTF, maybe you shared too many friggin meals with the team instead motivating them to “MESH”.
Sure there’s the marathon man vs. sprinter argument but on OUR US TEAM any one of them can put the necessary packages together to win.
At this level the coach is the keystone to bridging to victory.
And for what it’s worth CW, if I had the same team as coach next year you could bet we would be “highly successful”.
And one more jab, Rodney I love watching you play but were going to have to change your name to
Rodney it’s not Rocket science Morris.

DP and the ABP, all they do is whine and cry.
I'd love to run a big tour, because they would be the first ones banned if they didnt straighten up.
i think your right about shane not totally being in it. But lets remember he did get half of the 7 points usa did have so he did play his ass off. I think shane knew going in they didnt have the right team to win the cup. Earl even said it in 1 of the interviews given at the tar match.
dorabelle I dont think I know you,however to see a women speak the truth and stand up when things are wrong and should be exposed for the public to see.What a great role model for young players to find out that the Captain of team usa is a pervert and a crook.

Now, don't exaggerate. Shane participated in 7 matches: 3 singles matches (2 wins), 3 doubles matches (1 win), and the team match (loss). So I'd give him 2 1/2 of the 7 USA points -- 1 for each of the 2 singles wins and 1/2 for the 1 doubles win.
But Shane did win the most USA points. The other 4 1/2 points were: Archer 2, Dechaine 1, Putnam 1, and Morris 1/2 (counting 1/2 point for each player in a doubles win).
Thats 100%. If the fans are not behind you, they can drop you like a hot potato and will. That doesn't do much for the moral of the team.
When Charlie throws you a bar of soap and tells you to pick it up, then you know that team showers are not a good thing.
Couldn't have said it better myself. This press release was in very poor taste, as others have mentioned nothing should have been said at all. Because of what has transpired during the past year (with this, the actions of the ABP prior to the Open, what they said in the forums and one of these players behavior at Turning stone) It makes it darn near impossible to root for any of these players with the exception of Shane (he's cool in my book) in a regular tournament, let alone the Mosconi cup. To me, this is just another slap in the face for the fans of this sport. :angry:
I normally try to stay positive but Charlie and this "so called players organazation" really puts me on tilt. A thousand times more than any other capatain??? What a totally BS and disrespectful thing to say. I'll bet Nick, who was a great captain and above all a true PROFESSIONAL on and off the table really appreciates these comments. And I love the comment about the team having so much chemistry. This is precicely what they did not have! Who besides Charlie would even have the desire to lead a team of players acting like middle school girls after a comment such as this? Heck I don't know, but maybe that's what they are trying to accomplish. Nothing else they have done has made any sense.:banghead:
At some point, Johnny is going to have someone he trusts and believes in set him straight. That person (or persons) will make him realize that CW has got to stop making press releases. He is horrible at it. Everything that he tries to convey, all the points he tries to make... the whole message is lost because of the complete lack of awareness he has. And his arrogance shows through in each and every one. Whether it be a DP News post, or any of the ABP releases.
Johnny, this is the horse your wagon is hitched to. You will be viewed this way, because of your association (both literal and figurative) with CW. You may believe he is a great guy. You may not, but want to continue your working relationship. Doesn't matter, either way. This is what you, Johnny Archer, are going to have to deal with, all the time, so long as you are associated with CW. This is not a simple case of pool fans not understanding what it's like to be a professional pool player. We may not play pool like you guys do, but that doesn't mean we are inexperienced in life, or in business, or in dealings with manipulative and egotistical people.

2) Matchroom Sports: Please give us upfront information as to the selection criteria AND how our captain is decided. It's a mystery to your fan base and nearly feels "back-doored". The Euro team is decided differently than the US? REALLY?
3) The US team played their asses and hearts off, we just got beat. Next year!!!
4) We can go off and blame Charlie all we want, but one of my points is - HOW is our captain picked? HOW is our team picked?
