tables look softer than the ones in lousiana
hes on the main table now and yeah, just a different demeanor of how he goes about the table.

The two young Americans were very impressive. Taking down iceberg on the bb is no small feat. Congrats to Sam Henderson and Ricky Evans for showing that their is hope for the future of American pool.

As for the tourney, the rules didn't seem so out there...besides the slop counting on the 8 ball. I enjoyed the 30 minute matchb time and 15 second shot clock... production value was great, IMHO, and FREE stream. What's not to like?

Jordan “Welsh Wizard” Shepherd

Played amazing, very few mistakes.
I really enjoyed the format and watching Jordan play. Jordan's pattern play and speed were amazing.
His ability to nudge clusters open was another level. Not enough O's in smooth.

he's an 8-ball specialist, only plays 8-ball and a lot of it. they're not making very good money but they're competing all the time over there, and the competition is tough.

watched an english lady player just now on the stream, she played great and won against henderson. watched some of bergman also, completely drilled his opponent. even with shimmed valleys it's too easy for guys like him

I think these guys have the right idea for pro level 8 ball- should be on a bar table so they have to navigate some break outs and close position play. It is also great to have a timer so they don't walk around the table for 5 minutes like Bergman was doing years ago

I played in the Open in this tournament (as bottom tier, dead money). It was a great event the first two days and I would definitely play in another one of their events. The UK team they had running everything was great, and at least as of this afternoon, they were running 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Each table had an ipad to record to the score and the website updated in real-time with scheduling and table information. The TV table was busy with interesting matches both days. The pros imported from the UK were all friendly and nice to the locals.

As Bob mentioned above, Ultimate Pool has non-standard 8 ball rules, but they didn't seem to cause many problems. The required racking order is not the standard American style, so that caused some minor aggravation and complaining.

Like almost everyone here, I would rather watch pros play 9-ball on a 9 footer, but this was a super well-run event that was accessible to lots of casual players. Hopefully they continue and do these around the country.

Does the UK not know what brackets are? I mean, come on! It is such an integral part of scoring competitions.
Yup. No way to see who is still left or what the scores were. I take back the nice things I said about their website.

(Or at least I couldn't find the current players and past matches with a few minutes of looking.)
