Wow, that is awesome brother. You dont hear an ending like this to these stories too often. Chalk one up for the good guys. Just as a side note, i'd throw a pork chop to the pawn shop attendant who called the cops, I know it was the right thing to do, but God knows not too many people would have done it in that situation.

they already released them to me!!!!

I left the pawn shop with them. i know... surprising!

I do not want to dampen your good news, but.....if someone is charged, and it is set to go to trial, your cues and case will be held as evidence until a determination has been made. It may well be a while before you see them yet.

I had a similar situation with an SLR camera once. Reported it stolen, then located it at a pawn shop. Since the guy who took it admitted to it right away, I got my camera back right away....but I was warned prior that if he did not, it would be held as evidence until it went to trial, and a verdict was handed down.

Just want you to be aware, so that there are no other surprises for you.

you mean like this?????

Great Job there Buddy

You can thank you for getting your cue's back.

By going to all the different Pawn Shop and passing out the pictures of the cues, that was great work.

Pat yourself on the back.

This was work that would be normally done by an Investigator, but as we know the Police are pretty over burdened by cases that are probably more important than some stolen cues, at least to them.

The guy that was trying to pawn them probably did steal them or he's working with the guy that stole them or maybe got them in trade for some drugs.

Anyhow    You did a Great Job !!!

You may have a new calling in life

Congratulations ;)

I'm happy to report that about an hour ago, I got a call from the local police
to tell me that they "RECOVERED MY CUES" all 3k worth WHOOHOO!

the day after they were stolen I went around to EVERY pawn shop within 35 miles and dropped off pics and a description. Today. a guy came in to pawn them. They recognized the case/cues from the pics so they acted like they were headed into the back to "get a value" they called the police and the rest is sweet sweet history.

Turns out, this guy is probably not who stole them, but he somehow ended up with them. who knows if he'll roll over and tell who he got them from. I'm sure he will not want to get stuck with the felony theft charge!!!

wow.. I feel WHOLE again

John, you shouldn"t be rubbing this in so much. Just think of all the people you have hurt by finding your cues. For one me you had already talked about maybe buying my Darrin Hill know no way you got your old soft hitting sorry old Micarta ferruled shafts back. What about Darrin who you had talked to about another cue. He will probably never sell another cue. What about Whitten cue cases thats one sale they won"t make. Last but not least what about the moron who was stupid enough to try and sell or pawn your cue. You ruined his 4th of july weekend. poor guy. I hope you know i"m joking about this. If i give you money will you buy lottery tickets for me. See you at the Saturday tourn.

That is great and also makes me think, it is a good idea to take pictures of your cues and cases, just in case.

Can I ask, how they were stolen in the first place?

I hate to be an old told you so. I hate being just plain old too. Anyway great news. If happens more than you think.

fair play for getting out there and putting the effort in to let the pawn shops know - it would have been easy to give em up as gone for good.

also that sounds like a great idea with the pizza's for the employees there - it'll make you feel good too!
