Just got my latest update from the IPT. It is a press release they send out to all who have registered with them. I did so early on last year. I'd love to be able to post it on here.

It is a solicitation to join the IPT for $29.95 and pay "only" $5.95 a month to get their streaming videos etc. And discounts on IPT products. You can also qualify for commissions if you sign other people up. You become an "affiliate" of the IPT.

There is a long list of potential commissions for bringing more members in. They claim 1,200 members currently signed up. Hey, 12K a month. Not bad. Plus 36K up front.

To read this makes me nauseous. As if everything is well and good with the old IPT. Come on and join in the fun. Send us your money. I will try to post this here somehow. Of course, you can probably go to their website and see the same thing I just received.

It is basically a "boiler plate" multi-level marketing plan online.

It is pretty similar to others that they have sent out.

I wonder if it really is tied to the IPT or if it a separate company.

Think I should cancel my cancellation? Or will they require me to pay another $29.95.

According to the BD interview it ends with KT saying the players will be paid and he also said the Chicago event is still 100% on as of this moment.

I wonder when that moment was? When was the interview made?

Thank you. $7,200 a month from 1,200 members. 36K up front is correct though.

Various money streams like these are what keeps him in business, and able to continue his exploitations.

Yeah, It's all on the front page of the website as well.

SUNOFASCAMMINGBEEYATCH!

I got the email earlier, skimmed over half of it, thought it was just more of the typical Rah-rah stuff and deleted it. But now I went back and actually read it:

IT'S RIGHT THERE IN WRITING: THE IPT IS NOW A MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING SCHEME!!

This arrogant pirck (sp) even spells out the Pay Amounts and Levels right there in the Email!!

As usual with this scammer, his math is wrong. He states that "sign up 2 Members and it will pay for your first year". OK, work with me here - joining cost $29.95, plus $71.40 monthly dues ($5.95 x 12), for a total first year of $101.35.

But you only get $20.00 for each Referral. So how can 2 Referrals pay for my first year?

Not to worry. KT will make up the shortfall out of the IPO!!

It should be noted that Trudeau emailed players the following morning, indicating that the documents had, indeed, been signed and the players would start receiving their checks.
Apparently, the interview was one day before the last announcement.

lets put a commission I mean committee on KT to invesitigate these matters and see how quickly the wheels of justice churn out some grease spots.

Don't you think it always was a stealth pyramid scheme right from the beginning, the way he tried to set up the qualifiers. Referral fees, sponsor participation, encouraging players and room owners to personally recruit IPT qualifying entrants?

This guy's entire "career" has been a pryamid, starting with the grandaddy of them all, Amway!

And he is still trying.

I think it would be beneficial to put the date and time in the Title area of all posts when statements are about anyone getting paid, its all becoming quite confusing, could you imagine just getting on board and trying to figure it all out:confused

I LOVE that one! Unfortunately, it applies equally well to EVERY email/announcement from KT for the past, well, forever.

This IPT Member's Club offer is old news as it's been on the IPT website for the past two months.

Well, excuuuussse me. This is the first time I have been sent an e-mail specifically hailing the wonders of the members club. In the past all the e-mails pertained to Qualifiers and upcoming events. I guess the lack of Qualifiers and players necessitated a new strategy to bring in revenue.

You missed the point Allen. The point is, that they're sending out announcements/press release type emails NOW, TODAY, encouraging people to get other people to sign up. The problem with that is... the future of the IPT is unknown and the signs do not appear to be pointing in a very good direction at this time. Esp when KT used the words "I don't know" multiple times in his BD interview.

If he folds & closes up shop tomorrow... that's money that you just gave away and will never A) Get the service/member benefits you paid for, and B) stand no chance in the world of getting your money back.

It's certainly not set up from the start to be an MLM scam, it may pr may not be worth it for the current content, but it's cheap enough for whats available. affiliate program, Referrals and commissions are no big deal, heck half the web is set up as affiliates that make a commission when someone clicks and buys a product or becomes members to the other sight. If you really look at that way, Google is MLM with Google AdSense, even Ebay has an affiliate program. The affiliate program and referrals are clearly not a scam attempt, (pool would be the last market to try that with) but unfortunately his name draws that attention from many.

I know KT has been into bad schemes and tons of people will never trust the guy, but to say giving referrals or commissions is clearly MLM is not entirely correct, it can be, and clearly we can see his name is a HUGE problem and hurts the IPT's credibility more then I ever thought it would. Any other owner attempting this would be seen as an attempt to help the IPT get revenue, not MLM scamming. This is peanuts, and not going to amount to much, he's just trying what he knows best to make the IPT work, he has to try this, or just forget the IPT because a large membership base interested in the IPT content and some sort of re-worked qualifier system is the only way the IPT has any chance. Did anyone think the IPT was going to be funded by KT completely, a total charity situation? The IPT has to find revenue streams to make it work, I like the streaming media idea and lower cost on IPT products, I just think it's going to amount to nothing, most pool players like to PLAY pool, not watch it, thats why the APA works and some people make loads of money.

Sure the IPT could go bust at any second, and thats the only question, but there is enough content on the site that people are not really getting taken, if the IPT stops then people will just cancel, no harm no foul. I have paid for services or things that have went belly up within months, it happens and I don't feel bad if I got my moneys worth while it lasted.

And for the record, I never signed up for it because I would rather buy pool matches on DVD and I'm still wondering why he has not made an effort to make cheap affordable DVD's available to promote the IPT.
