They have what's called the XTC Ferrule. Is that anything special or can you replace them with any material used for ferrules?Varney Cues said:After replacing the tip on a few...it makes you wonder how long until they all crack. They are cheap plastic and very thin walled uncapped. Not the best they could of used...very possibly the worst.
Like ANY shaft...it can be replaced with a quality ferrule of your choice.hackerda said:They have what's called the XTC Ferrule. Is that anything special or can you replace them with any material used for ferrules?
I phoned cue and case today and they said to send them back and they will send 2 new shafts,my customers are happy with thatJack Flanagan said:if you bought the shaft thru any reputable dealer, they can get it fixed or replaced, as needed........
the XTC ferrule was originally sold thru Atlas, but was sold out to the mfg of the smartshaft. I have been breaking with one for a year, with no problems,,,,,,,,contact your dealer......j

I was very curious why they used such a soft, thin walled ferrule and then left it uncapped. Recipe for damage.Michael Webb said:I asked Mr. Stroud about the ferrule on these shafts, He said if the ferrule is changed to something other than, it changes the hit, I also asked about having access to the ferrules, (No response), so it might do well that if you play with the smart shaft, BUY two, just in case one cracks.
Because it's a lightweight material to reduce end-mass.Varney Cues said:I was very curious why they used such a soft, thin walled ferrule and then left it uncapped. Recipe for damage.
Like Mr. Webb says...if you are going to play with a Smart shaft...it'd be smart to buy two.![]()

Is Cue and Case the only distributor?
What do they cost new, the RS and LS?
Adapters?
Thanks in advance; happy cueing!
Ummm...thats a no brainer...me too!!!JoeyInCali said:Joey~Would rather shoot with a permanent ferrule even if it has little more weight and better hit ~
