So what happens if a cue maker threatens he didn't make a cue? ROFL
Does the value go to hell?

For sureJmo
One of the Greatest names in Cue maker history.
This^^^ makes way to much sense. He is still alive just ask him if he made it.
The original post said he did. Brian. He is still alive just ask him if he made it.
He needs to ask again and get a letter. I just sold my South West. And the customer sent it off to South West to get it authenticated. The original post said he did. Brian.
I think most here are familiar with him and his cues. I wonder how familiar you are with cues thougIh as your OP mentions a “50 year old Joss West made in Maryland”. Original block letter Joss cues were made in Maryland by Bill Stroud and Danny Janes. Bill Stroud split a few years later and went back on the road as a player and then founded Joss West cues which were customs made by Bill, they weren’t made in Maryland. Joss cues were and are still made in Maryland, just for the record.,I have been a member since 7- 4- 2010. I do have a fifth year old JW. It was not made in Townson,Md. Your observation was correct ; however I have more knowledge than that statement indicates. As I said I have cues and memorbalia I would like to share with other AzBers
The TW story was my reason for the post. The cue was never for sale. Not to derail this thread, but I always love those stories about him. I don’t think he has been on this forum in some time.

I hate when a Mezz has no COA, I'd pass!@!!This is 2024 and I can't believe cues are sold and passed around in trades with no certificate of authenticity.
I know some cue makers have passed but there are still many alive. Go get it certified.
I don' think a makers mark is enough.
I have box and papers with my Mezz. LOL It's going with the new owner if I essentially sell it.
I have the priviledge of knowing Julian Roberts who has worked for AccuStats for years. In 1993, Julian, knowing I had an interest in cues, asked me to go with him to the first meeting of American Cue Makers. At this event, I found Thomas Wayne's booth and having my cue with me, he wanted to examine it. Then, seeing the cue, Thomas said it was not his, he always signed his cues. However, a women with a strong Jamaican accent, said that she remembered when he was working on the cue..Fortunately, for me, Julian was standing near me and can verify that Thomas Wayne eventually admitted that it was his cue. He offered to take it back with him to Alaska and sign it. Alaska was too far away for the cue to be out of my sight. I believe that a personal admittance by Thomas Wayne says it all. I will be listing some valuable cues and billiard-related articles. For example, a 50-year old Joss West made in Maryland. I will have a variety of photos of players both pool and billiard.
I'm still wondering why it's unsigned.If he didn't sign it, it's probably a second
Good luck with your sales, but be ready to take a buzz cut on your price
