Hi everybody this cue comes from some firewood that my brother is burning in his woodstove. He cut the oak tree down from the yard where we grew up in Littleton Ma. I never have seen wood grain in oak like this before. It appears to be quilted curly oak.Let me know your oppinions.
Thanks Joe C

Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note: anyone looking for a great cue, Joe is the guy. You will never find a cuemaker that is more adament about pleasing his customers.

That is some nice oak. The figure is not uncommon for oak. It comes from the base of the tree near the ground, where there is a lot of weight & the line of the tree begins to curve as it changes from trunk to root. It is also seen in crotch & under branches. It's never seen in lumber form, though. The only place to get it is like you say, from a firewood stash. Beautiful wood.

i've seen this cue and the pictures are close but the cue really pops in person. and he has a stack of it as firewood. joe, this cue came out great.

That is nice Joe. Guess I'll have to put that piece of wood you gave me to use. I turned some round 3 or 4 months ago and haven't looked at it since.

Very nice work all around. There is some good quality workmanship in that cue. Would love to test drive something like that

Thanks or posting.

Is this a 60" cue? Very nice Joe. Let me know when you are going to start on my boxed point and butt cue.

Outstanding!

This cue will make some heads turn. Very, very nice.

Congrats!

Now that is cool.

This cue will be in the same league as Brian May's (Queen) homemade fireplace mantle guitar.

Great job!
