Update on the Des Moines pool scene

There were a couple teams that could give y'all a run if they didn't choke when they played you guys. I really didn't even know there was league money last time so nothing wrong with practicing with your team.

I thought if you guys play Masters you don't have an original team or within the same league restriction any longer. Only rule is 1 elite per team and the new elite list only has 6 or 7 guys on it. Are those changes still good? I'm looking forward to some beast teams in the masters now because of that. I think it's gonna be a good year for state, I really liked the state tourneys.

Good discussion thus far about the make up of teams (i.e. masters on open level 1 or not). I am absorbing all of these comments and suggestions and trying to formulate some good ideas.

What do you all think about converting to a four man team format? That is yet another option that has been suggested to create more teams...same people, just more teams. A team with only two Masters would be more competitive that way as well (that might fit Mike B's situation).

Mikey, I'd really like to come down Saturday for your 10-ball but this nice weather has my fishing finger itchin'. I really haven't been out yet due to pool mostly so I think I'll have to wet a line this weekend. If I catch a bunch of white bass, I'll invite you up for some blackened bass....mmmmmm yummy!

Remembered this post wrong. Apparently its just a same league system rule.
 
As you may have heard, I am no longer the president of the ISPA, but I still know some of the rules...until somebody decides to change them and then who knows when they'll be published :(.

Anyway, still 5 person teams and the no 3 original player requirement for Master teams still holds true...unless that's been changed too...never know.

As far as the Elite list goes, I think Jamie is the only Elite from DM...again unless that's changed :confused:.

Hope you guys all have a good year. Sounds like some changes are happening in DM. I'm sure there will be some changes in every league...happens every year.

Check out the ISPA web site. There are some answers there and hopfully the new president, Louie Bartels, will be willing to talk to the palyers.

I'm just a player now...I've developed a bad taste for politics. Seems you can't really trust anyone.

Having fun playing pool though. At least I know I can't trust anyone in that field :grin:. Might try some of those weekend tournaments down thataway this winter too.

Does anyone know how many weeks the bca/valley combined runs? I might be looking to get in 6 weeks so I can play singles in state for the first time in awhile. I'm slightly overdue.

Renee and Jim Cook are running the VNEA/ISPA/ACS leagues. BCA is no longer around as you only qualify for the Vegas tournament, and noone from around here goes.

So you get qualified for all those ACS events too? If that's the case I feel like everyone should play. Always see ACS tourneys on the tournament calendar on AZ and most of them are within 3 hours of Des Moines in all directions.

No one has posted if it is 5 man or 4 man league?

Saturday night ten ball at Stix Windsor Heights, get you tail there by 7 or call me and let me know you will be late. As usual open bar tables equal action. There's always a strong field and plenty of upsets. Drunkest and most fun tourney in town for sure.
 
Matt, i replied.

Frost, yes we will qualify for all those. + i hear after the first of the year they are gonna add more ACS tournaments in and around IA. Think they are gonna do 4 man on monday.

Sorry, I will be at our cabin on Lake Okaboji.....boating, drinking, seeing LOTS of college tatas and just having a blast of a time. Have fun at Stix:poke:

I will probably be out of town too still or just back in town and have to get up at 6-630 in the morning Sunday so I won't make this one unfortunately. Have a cold one for me.
 
Does anyone have a schedule to show how many weeks the season will be? If it is long enough I might try to squeeze in the minimum 6 so I can play singles.

I did that all summer long you rookie. Black people don't get in the water in September, it's bad luck for the whole year. I thought you knewwwwww.

Take some pics of the tatas and take a pic of your face after your girl catches you taking the pics and just blame me.
 
Thanks to Bruce for putting on a perfect Tiger Onyx tip on my cue for me. So far so good with the Tiger Onyx it is a great tip. Of course I already put a little bump on my shaft shooting over a pocket on a stupid valley!
