Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Aw, Jeff;

I've never had to worry about the end time of a tournament...

The start time is what's holding me up. plus the $50, plus 9' tables, plus I can't play...

Someday I will get my schedule cleared, piggy bank cracked, cue extensions out and muster up what I got to come see.:p

It was an enjoyable time at the Big Dog last night - many of the usual cast of characters were present...

It's great to have a proper pool hall back in town.

Try the Hot (Cheese) Balls -- VERY tasty as a snack while playing 1-hole.

lol, what about the pizza rolls?! Still haven't been out there yet, maybe after this weekend after the SCOOP tourneys finish up...got some %s of horses in action since I can't play :(.

Jason was the talk of the tournament make no mistake. Best compliment he got that he never heard was when me and SVB were drinking at the bar and I asked SVB about Jason. SVB said he would play him 8-7 maybe 8-7/9-7. That's pretty damn strong isn't it all things considered right?

Hi there and can't wait to see the new room. I'm in Davenport right now and plan on heading over there to give a few Perfect Aim lessons before the tournament. And do some tuneups for the players I worked with a couple of years ago.

Nobody knows this but I lived in Iowa until I was in the 3rd grade. As i drive around I feel like this is home. I lived in Marshalltown,Alden, fort dodge, waterloo, Des Moines from the time I was 2 until about 9.

Sounds like a great tourny, Can't hardly wait. Great pool world there for sure and alot of good people.

I'll be there on Wed so call me to schedule a lesson.

See ya all soon. Geno.............

A couple of quotes from my opponent last night:

"You might be the best in the universe at that shot."

"Leaving him a bank is like giving him ball in hand!"

We ended up having a lot of fun games and I played pretty good just to break even.

So we made it to Big Dogs finally. Great place, great tables, clean restrooms. We had a load of fun with one exception. The music was just too loud. It wasn't deafening but it was enough to make it much less fun being there. To be fair, it was a Friday night so that may have been the culprit. Oh, the service was just fine. We had someone come around to the table we were on either two or three times and ask if we were doing ok or needed anything.

Anyway, amazing tables, very nice place but a few levels too loud for shooting serious pool on Friday night.
