Updated Player List For U.s. Open

just curious - where did you find this list?

....From the name, I would hazzard a conjecture that Slbehrman is one of the lovely Behrman daughters who are in the Tix booth every year.

that was my guess as well, however, i was hoping that there was a spot on the US Open website or something that will continue to provide updated lists.

This is Shannon, Barry's Daughter. I am posting the player list on this website for my dad. We are working on getting it put on the US Open website as well. The Player List will be updated every week until the event starts, so you will know what players to expect to see this year.

Unless I'm mistaken...I don't see any names from Colorado. What's that about?

Automatic odds line US Open

I also would like to see some sort of odds line develop. I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I think it would be possible to have an online calcutta. It would require a lot of threads, and someone trustworthy to hold and distribute the money, but in principle it could work.

For example, each pick is a new thread, and bidding is considered closed when (say) 5 minutes of server time elapse without a new bid. Going through the whole field would take forever, so it could be blind picks only, I would guess about 20-30 players would get picked, which would yield a decent odds line.

If betting real money is an issue, there could be a vCash calcutta instead.

The time and online auction complication is why I suggested the pic your own style purchase. In this way you could select any player you wanted. It would also allow multiple bets on any player. The final odds line is then derived from the cash bet on each player vs. the total cash bet on the rest of the field.

This also encourages individuals to place any minimal wager on a long shot... which might be astronomical payout odds. With this many players and the possible number of bettors and disparity of selections, an underdog with an honest chance to win might get odds as high as 200 or 300 to 1.

There you go Fragged....... Post up your mug so the nice young lady can get a look at your handsome self. Put your picture in your avatar and no funny stuff. We know you're no Rhett Butler. :)

Shannon, thanks for posting the list. One of our own AZers Mr. J is playing Jeffy Jimenez along with his mentor Dan Louie.

Good luck to them both.

lol @ Buddy and some of the aging dinosaurs thinking they have a shot, at least they're kind enough to cough up their $500 to the young guns

Past champions pay no entry fee. One of Barry's sweet perks!
