Hello to all my Azers. I've been absent from here for a while because I had to catch up from school after playing the APA US Amatuers in Florida...I was so far behind but I managed to catch up and do well in all of my finals.
So, if you guys didn't hear, I took 2nd, lost to Betty Sessions; she is a great player and I hope to play her in the future in many tournaments to come.
Following Florida, I had to play the last stop of the West Coast Women's tournament at the Broken Rack in Emeryville, Ca. I lost to my very good friend Eleanor Callado. I had to beat her twice since I came back from the B-Side, however, I won the first set and i ran out of juice in the 2nd set but it was a great match...both of us was playing lights out.
Since I won 3 out of 5 stops (took 3rd in the first stop and 2nd in the last), I won the title as of being the Regional Tour Champion. My sister has been the Regional Tour Champion for 3 years straight and I'm glad that I was able to "keep it in the family."
So what's next for me? I am not sure. Next year is all depending on my school schedule. I love the game but education is first. However, once I graduate, I am going to try to play in the WPBA. I am not sure if I am going to play the Regional Tour Championships next year, but I am going to try to make it because it's a great opportunity.
Sorry that I haven't been in touch lately, but I'm back in it! lol.
Thank you for all the support!
Mary Rakin
