US Billiard Industry Split

The best thing they could do in my opinion, is to outlaw all types of billiard games, anything with a ball and a table. Then cornhole can take it's rightful place as the king of sports and the sport of kings. We could recycle pool balls into marbles, and cue sticks into toothpicks. You could probably sell Balabushka toothpicks for a dollar each with all the proper provenance. pool tables can still be used for laundry and cubes of chalk as projectiles to throw at lousy drivers on the hiway.Life is not that complicated ,some people just overthink it.

Whatever you think of the event, it should remind you that snooker is divided, as Bob Jewett noted in Post #13.
Its not black and white comparison with pool mate.
Pool is and has been in worse shape for decades.

Snooker problems, 2 out of 10
Pool problems, 9 out of 10

Perspective and weighting matter a lot.

Since shrinkage is evident, like Bob said it being a trade show, they don't allow the public.

Even when I was in-office when the BCA relocated to CO, I always thought it was ODD, the public was NOT allowed. Many would of loved to of met the Knoxville Bear or many others.

Make it an Annual Billiard event for mfg and the general public.
With everything that our industry has to add excitement.
Including Dr. Cue/Mike Massey.
Have a trick shot competition, alongside the other events.
Everyone should make money, it's too simple.
Vegas works well, plenty of hotels, and reasonable flights in/out.
I'm flying to Vegas to the Trop next week from Colorado Springs.
R/T non-stop $180 TOTAL.
Can't even drive a 50mpg car there and back for that.

That would be appealing.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying your opinion.

I think you need to ask how damaging these splits are and who really holds the whip hand? The WPBSA fallout with the IBSF is essentially who controls the amateur game. It has no impact at a professional level, and after an immensely successful world championship, is not something the average fan cares or even knows about.
The financial reality is the WPBSA has the power and whatever the IBSF do it will not effect them. The long term effects on the Amateur game (assuming nothing changes) will be a gradual erosion of the IBSF grip and undoubtedly blood on the carpet but it’s not going to effect the big money Snooker Tour or the biggest events.

On the other hand what I see in UK pool is a sport which had been and continues to be divided. And has been badly damaged by various bodies working against each other to control a small pot.
What I believe with 9-ball is a bright future at risk from an incompetent governing body.

Arguably the WPA in its efforts to control a myriad of pool disciplines has held many of them back.
