US Open 9 Ball: Players Paid Up Yet?

I think the Open is dead. After many years of people giving it the benefit of the doubt I think this is the straw that broke the camels back. If what I am hearing is true there are troubles with the venue, he still owes players and its already February.

Only way I can see it possibly going on is lowering the added, posting it all up in advance with someone and having a third party handle all the payouts. If that wont happen then I feel absolutely nothing for people who get burnt in the deal. The shit has simply gone too far. Its terrible for the players and its terrible for the industry as a whole.

The discussion could easily be ended. Barry could show up and give an update. I mean he did have about 10 press releases as to when players would be paid.

So let him know this thread is brewing again and just maybe he will pop up sometime soon and update it. That way he can work on getting the Open image back on track.

I love the event, I just hope it can repair this damage.
It is one of the top 3 events in America, along with Derby City and The BCAPL events/

I assume you are referring to the CSI US Open 10 Ball, One Pocket, and 8 Ball Championships all being held consecutively this year, and not actually to the BCAPL National 8 Ball Championships that happens to take place adjacent to these events.

Dennis just got his last "payment" for second place, only after excessive pressure was put on BB. I think he realized that he wouldn't be welcome back in the Philippines unless he paid up. Shane is still owed most of his first place money. Others who got bad checks remain unpaid.

Thanks for giving an inside look at what has happened Mr. Helfert.
I know you and BB had a relationship at one time and it was commendable of you to give him as many chances as you did.
I hope he hasn't turned on you also.
You seemed to be one of his last remaining supporters.

it is too bad. reparations really need to be made now, if there is to be a 2013 event.

there are a lot of folks who make significant expenditure$ to attend and i can't see many thinking booking airfare, hotel and $600 entry- in advance- is a wise decision.

Why isn't this a sticky?

The USPPA thing was a sticky on the forum, it took years to resolve but it got resolved. It took extensive encouragement to pursue legal action but it worked.

Now half a year later the US Open is trying to pull a pitch and ditch because management decided to change locations. That is a Behrman class disaster.

The forum is changing, there aren't any quality threads or discussions to be had here any more. It is all if its bad for business let's not talk about what can be done, let's just focus on what is working type minded people. The problem with that is, nothing every changes, you just get set up to be conned by a new personality with same quick jargon.

New pool term, Behrman business deal. When you pay out the bottom prize winners and leave the top prize winners without pay. In bad business pool terms it means more people want to the event to happen again, while top players can only be suspicious of "what if."
