US Open Live Scoring on AZBilliards

This is high-tech stuff! Mike and I are sitting high in the stands with our computers and a pair of binoculars so we just check the scores every minute or so with the binoculars and update the page.

Well, it sure works fine the way you do it, so keep on :D

Hope you can recruit someone to help you, so you don't have to do updates all the week...

PS: Ralf Souquet won the Eurotour in Switzerland this weekend, the first player to win back to back since Johnny Archer in 1999. How about an interview with him? ;)

AZBilliards is happy to announce that we will be doing live scoring all week long at the US Open. Just go to: azbilliards.com/usopen08/scores.php. You will be able to follow all of your favorite players, rack by rack, through every match.

This new feature is brought to you by Sportsfan Products. Sportsfan is your supplier for all collegiate-licensed products and can provide you with everything from ceiling fans to theater seating and poker tables that all carry the emblem of your favorite team.

Please remember the deal that we have with our sponsors: They make stuff, you buy it. They have already made the stuff so now you need to do your part. And they are nice folks. These aren't your lobster-picking nose in the air kinda guys, these are regular folks who eat cheeseburgers and real french fries, not those awful little potato wedges you get in a foo-foo restaurant. So they deserve your support.
Awesome stuff here guys. Things like this are the reason AZ is the #1 pool related site on the net! Kudos!

This is some great stuff I agree and hope that you find some help to relieve you guys so that you don't have to do it all week... But know that it is appreciated and of course why AZ is the top pool forum on the net...

It would also be nice if you could find Archer and do a interview on his tour and what it is like traveling with Earl ... That would be interesting stuff...lol...

Thank you so much for the updates.

No help

Mike and I have no help here but we will stick with it to provide you scores. There may be an exception if matches run into the wee hours. Mike is an old man and needs his sleep so we may have to bail on the 2AM stuff if that occurs. Please understand this as Mike gets very cranky if he doesn't get his beauty rest.

now that has got to be a sight and a LONG day ;)

Yeah ! Finland's Petri Makkonen beat Edwin Montal 11-5 ! Petri is a former junior European Champion and definitely a player who can beat anyone. Better watch out, there are quite a few unknown Finnish players this year in the Open...

Edit: Thanks for the live coverage ! It's awesome !

Many Thanks!!!

Thank you for the live updates that you guys are posting for all of us unfortunate enough to not be able to attend.

This is really a big plus to be able to check on the status of the ongoing matches.

Hope you have some really good binoculars so your eyes don't get fried!

KUDOS to you, and thanks again!!!

us open

Thanks for these advanced features. May be easier to follow at home then being there.

Great stuff

Very cool thing you guys are doing, don't think it isn't appreciated. I'll stop by and say hey when I get there.

This is something that I have wanted to do at a major event for a long time. And this year's open seemed like the perfect time to give it a shot.

Big thanks to Joel at Sportsfan Products for coming on board to sponsor our coverage of the event.

when the prize money for the events gets to a halfway reasonable level, then i may start to care.

has anybody ever thought about the fact that if the prize money were what it should be, that the "best players" may be a lot different that what they currently are? just a thought.

i always laugh at the fact that if i got say 3 tables, put them in a room, and put up say 2000 i could get all the best players from my state (and probably the ones around it) to show up for a tournament. do people know how pitiful that is??

Great Job Gentlemen

Thanks for a doing such a great job on the updates. Was wondering why Efren, Siegel and Buddy Hall are not there or did I just miss their names on the brackets?
