US Open stream...............

Off the two-ball behind the nine?
...hook behind the six-ball for plan B

Yes. It seemed that Wu was stellar at these little short safes, while Shane was going for the major distance and hide....Wu was playing safeties just like you recommended and that seems like it is what was called for. Share must have felt he couldn't get the distance so he went for the combination.

To add to my post above - I was blown away to see a race to 15 'take what you make' 8 ball match between Alex and Bergman in which only 1 safety was played the entire set!

It goes full circle:

Beginners are all offense
Advanced players learn when the table can't be run, don't kill soldiers, develop the table
Elite players learn when the table can't be run, run out anyway!

Good point, sir
Snooker and 3-cushion are being played at the highest level in history....
...both are seeing less safeties being played...I learned some 3-cushion with a lot of
playing the billiard, playing position, and playing safe all in the same shot....
...so much of the modern game is to ignore the safe factor...and they’re making it work.

The older snooker players used to say “It isn’t what you make, it’s what you leave.”....
...the modern players feel you keep your opponent in his chair..and they’re making THAT work.

Pool is growing up also...the aggressiveness is showing even more at one-pocket.

In 1p for sure. The old days of make a couple and duck are over. Good defense is always a plus but so many modern 1p players will run out given half(or less) a chance. Sure wish i was going to Buffalo's for the 1p event. May not get to see Efren many more times. That tournament has 16 pit-vipers signed up and should be epic with all the side action down there.

HELP! with matches today!

Someone put up a youtube link yesterday morning and I watched matches all day yesterday on it. He said just type in usopen live and it worked. But that is now showing a round of 16 match. I know it starts at noon but does anyone know if that link will still work on youtube today or is there a different one or will it even BE on youtube today? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Search on YouTube for "Bee Media."

I see a ton of matches that've already been played under bee media but nothing that says "live". Maybe it'll change at noon. Thnx again, Jenny. :)

Nothing is live until it starts. That will be 13 more minutes!

Rainbow Unicorn on FB will also have a live stream.

Yeah but I thought it might say something like "Live, coming up at noon" and have the cam on with the crowd milling around, etc, etc... so, we'll see. MOOCHO appreciated!

Great players also learn how to break well ;)

Final Day

4 attacking players- we are in for some great matches.

Jeff De Luna says he has a plan to beat Filler

can-you-smell-what-the-rock-is-cooking (1).jpg

And Chang Yu Lung is familiar with Wu's game so upset is possible

So we could see 2 semifinal upsets and a surprise final between De Luna v Chang ;)

But folks are looking forward to Filler -Wu final. Could be just 3 or 4 innings final
Filler is bookmakers favorite but IMHO, Wu has slight edge with better safety game, knowledge, mental game.
A lot depends on the break :D
