USA vs Russia, Mosconi Cup format, Sep. 23-26

I would never pick Jayson Shaw over former MVP's Neils Feijen and Albin Ouschan.

Both of those players had to use jump cues to get out of trouble in many matches, Shaw
absolutely shreds those guys when it comes to shot making.

Shane was up 4-0. Couple dry breaks. now 4-2, Fedor breaks, makes a ball, open table and leaves himself long on the 4, scratches in the side.

Game over.

Thanks for updates!!

HUGE confidence booster.
HUGE learning experience
HUGE team building moment.

Team USA and coach Johann - we salute you.

Bravo and well done. The pool version of Rocky 4 is complete.

I'd be stunned if the world's No. 2 player is passed over for the team. That being said, I agree the other choice should be Oushan or Feijen.

But remember that Matchroom is looking at TV ratings, too. I have a sneaky suspicion that Appleton gets in to attract the British viewership. Plus, he's played quite well in these events for many years, iirc.

Usa, all the way!

Congrats to the Yankees.
Hey, maybe the Russians should play the 10-ball ghost more often. :D

Nick van den Berg is in danger of losing his automatic spot on Team Europe.
He has a tough elimination game tomorrow against Wu Kun Lin. If he loses, and Albin Ouschan finishes in the top 8 at the US Open, Albin gets the automatic spot ahead of Nick.

That would make Team Europe much stronger, imo. Chamat wouldn't have to use a wild card pick on Ouschan, and instead could tab David Alcaide, for example.
