USPS HAS DONE IT AGAIN- Three CUES LOST/DELAYED

Within the last 45 days I have purchased 3 cues- two here on AZ and one on EBAY- ALL three cues were shipped by sellers USPS " PRIORITY" - the tracking was and is horrendous on all three cues- one was "gone"- out of sight for 7 days- no indication from tracking as to where it was after arriving at drop off P.O. One cue so badly delayed without proper tracking that me and the seller agreed to refund and then I repaid him once cue finally arrived, since it looked truly lost for 7 business days. One shipping box totally destroyed when it reached my home- thank God he put cue in a hard tube inside the shipping box.

Both AZ transactions ended up great for me and the seller in terms of the cue itself. My most recent cue purchase on EBAy is again currently "lost" somewhere in the USPS system- no idea from tracking since last Saturday at P.O. drop off by seller as to where the cue is today- tracking has not changed for 6 days now- no indication as to whereabouts of cue.

I stopped shipping cues USPS three years ago- I only use FED EX now- tracking is perfect every time. This is the last straw for me- will no longer buy a cue without upfront agreement not to use USPS for shipping- I'm done- 3 cues in 45 days- crazy!

That sounds more like how thing's went for me with FedEx , for me i sent out two shafts at the same time to different people and it took literally 2 weeks to get to both locations I could of driven there faster .
I'm glad you received your cues safe and sound ! When my shafts were repaired and sent back when they did arrive late both boxes looked as if they were used as a weapon but no damage to the shafts thankfully.

Sometimes I think these issues are specific to certain areas or routes maybe. And perhaps USPS doesn't handle the more oddly sized packages as well?

I get quite a lot sent to me USPS and almost never have had anything go more than 1 day later than the initial delivery estimate. But most of them are small items and not oddly sized like a cue.

For anything high value, high priority I tend to go Fed Ex. Even their ground service is usually quick, cheap, and has great tracking.

A few years ago I sold a set of brake calipers and shipped it USPS. I'll admit the box was heavy, but I received no comments or concerns from the local post office when I dropped it off.

It got lost somewhere. Intended path was from Fort Lauderdale to somewhere in Texas (was it Houston? I can't remember.)

Anyways, tracking showed it arriving in Houston. Then per USPS tracking, it went to Memphis, then Palm Beach county in FL, then Fort Lauderdale, then back on its way to Houston.

Then tracking info was no longer being updated. I called USPS Customer Service. They told me I had to call my originating post office. Ever tried calling a post office? Yeah, no one answers. So I went there. They told me that once it leaves the local post office, they have no control or info about it and that I should call Customer Service. The classic finger pointing back and forth. I refunded the purchase price to the buyer.

So I submitted a claim and thankfully I was reimbursed for the stated value of the contents.

The shipment eventually did arrive about three months after it was shipped. What was delivered? The shipping label. No box.

I've had 5 cues 1 shaft and 3 cases shipped USPS to me in Canada, all moved quickly through the US with good tracking . They then got handed over to Canada Post and still no problems.

Howdy All;

Have my meds sent by the VA it all goes USPS. After living in NM for a few years
I get some meds shipped from Utah. Gets to Provo, Ut. and then to Denver area.
Next check of tracking it's back in Provo. 2 days later back in Denver. 2 days
later, not showing in Albuquerque, nope, Provo. Got stuck in a loop. Made a few calls
Local PO, told me to call The 800 number. Did, got a Postal Inspector, 'splained the
problem gave her the Tracking # and was told to wait a few days. Few days later it
shows up at Local office. YEA!!! They had to trap it put that fat black sharpie stripe
across the bar code place a new tracking # on it and kick it my way.
It's mostly the machines.

USPS once left me a pickup notice for my package even though I was home at the time (seemed like the mail man was trying to avoid me). When I went to my local post office to pick up the item, the postal worker gave me an empty box with the contents obviously stolen. I submitted an insurance claim the next day with full photographs and notorized forms, then received a claim-denial letter 45 days later because I failed to submit the required photos and forms within the 30 time limit... um, what??? The post office that received the claim materials literally sat on them until the submission time frame expired, then tried to blame me for their mistake. It took 6 months to finally receive a check, and while total loss was $2400, I only received $1600 because the vendor under-insured the goods (they were custom built light sabers). That was a very expensive lesson to never ever use USPS for any high end goods ever again.

Meanwhile, both DHL and UPS have never lost a single item for me. DHL is very fast when shipping to and from Canada, though customs can delay the process well over a week. I also wonder if I can ever send my custom 2006 Gilbert back to him for any refinishing or similar service since the white inlays are now prohibited where I live.

I am driving over 700 miles soon to deliver a high end cue to a buyer. The risk of shipping or flying with it checked in all seemed just too
much for me. The cue has lots of ixxory as well which was another concern.

I am also driving straight thru and completing the delivery before even going to my hotel. No desire to leave it anywhere.

Too many nightmares with things getting stolen then dealing with the aftermath. Way too much for me…

Hope the OP gets a good resolution to his issues. You have my sympathy!

Thanks All! My third cue purchase is still in limbo land at USPS- I certainly can understand delays- most frustrating is their so-called tracking system- how does a "tracking" system not indicate location of a very large package for one full week now - this was the case with my prior two purchases as well.
Yes, indeed, the term "priority" mail is a misnomer and a joke - I understand that sellers cannot get refunds for time delays of priority packages- nothing like being robbed by your government- and they have a $15 surcharge for cue sized packages to boot!

USPS tracking always has been worthless since it came out about 15 years ago. UPS and FedEX tracking, on the other hand, is spot on.

I've been using PirateShip for the past year and love it. They give corporate discounts on USPS and UPS, no fedex unfortunately. I think if I had a business selling cues, I'd use their website to buy UPS Ground with tracking, and feel very confident the cues would arrive on time, and the tracking would actually work.

you never know these days. people dont want to work or care about things. so thats the world we live in now.
get used to it. most stuff gets there sooner or later. just make sure you secure it for the worst. and label it plainly.
if you dont then its on you.

Well, this morning- one week later- they report the cue to be in Detroit! Cue mailed priority last Saturday from Indiana - I live in Fl. - so it went North to now go South one week later- You just can't make this stuff up- the level of incompetence is mind boggling- not everyone- my own local USPS guy is great, hard working, on time every single day, and many others there too - I have always had great local carriers from the USPS everywhere that I lived. It seems that once you get inside that building back room things go haywire!

Tracking is only as "spot on" as the honesty of the driver. And they all use third party contractors.

My lady had a credit card overnighted by FedEx. The next day tracking showed delivered. Nothing there. Not in the bushes, under the stairs, no opened package in the dumpster, nothing.

She called the credit card company. Their tracking also showed delivered, so the card was cancelled and another shipped, of course with another overnight fee.

The next day the package is at her door. She opens the package, calls to activate the card and it won't activate. It is the cancelled card the driver claimed was delivered the previous day.

They all suck.
