I have a rule, well a few, when it comes to gambling at pool. Here are a few:
1. Dont F with the Pinoys
2. Dont F with any other non US players until you find out who they are.

One year in Vegas, I left a friend of mine alone for 30 minutes to go hang with Gabe for awhile. We come back and he is playing King Kong, a little friendly $50 a game action. Gabe & I knew who Kong was, my friend didn't. Unfortunate for him.

Gotta give Jeanette Lee some props for betting it up. It's EXACTLY one of MANY things that makes the Super Billiards Expo special, and that's the action. Plus, there's so many tournaments: juniors, seniors, women, leagues, ProAm, Pro.

There was a man from PR shooting 9 ball here on the east coast of Florida about 1 1/2 years ago. Watched him for about 3 hours pounding balls in on a triple shim 9 footer like theres no tomorrow. He was a complete gentleman at all times. Great shooter and you could tell he was a business man, knows how to make $$$$$$.

I think that was Jennifer Chen that was missing for a spell, if memory serves me right. There was a rumor going around that she had gambling issues, and that either she was laying low or the gambling mobsters were after her to pay up. Who knows what the truth is there. You know how rumors go. Usually, they can get taken way out of proportion. :embarrassed2:
I agree, though, that it woudld GREAT to see Jeanette Lee in action against another lady player. I have only seen Jeanette compete in person a few times. I never knew her when she was younger, before she acquired fame.
However, when I did see her in person in the tournament, she definitely knows how to work the audience. She had the whole crowd cheering, clapping like seals, and jumping up with glee whenever she made a ball.
I also have a few stories that I heard about her gambling when she was younger, which I will save for another day. All in all, I like Jeanette, much better than a lot of lady pros today. She's not just a pretty face in the crowd. The woman can really play and give a lot of male pros today a run for their money.

This is how rumors get started and twisted around. You have the right story, only the wrong player. It was Jennifer Chen, not Ga Young, that got into a jam with the "books".
This is why I can't wait to get your book. You know what is going on and lived through a lot of it. I am going on a cruise in early April so hopefully it will be here by then.
