What A Shame. Some one should talk to Allen about these convension centers. They are very large with tall commercial ceilings , concrete floors and bad food venders. There are no restaurants inside to have a nice meal.I do not think he realizes what the people did not like about the last Expo. Because he is doing the same thing at this Edison site. I have been to train show's in this Edison NJ location and if you ask me, its the same cold atmosphere as the last place he tried. WoW what a shame the Radison was very quant and cosy. I don't understand why he can not find a similar place where everyone will be happier. I live only 1 hour away from this new Edison location, but I would much rather have it in a Hotel with all the comforts. Even though this location is much closer to me,I would rather see this Expo prosper rather then people loosing interest. As a result, I always looked forward to going to this show. I made it like a vacation for me. You know what they say, all good things come to a end. What a Shame.

I feel exactly the same way,it now has happened at the 3 biggest events per year for me.The US Open ,the Derby City at the Executive West, and of course the Valley Forge location.I thought the changes would be just a matter of getting use to them but that is not the case,they are in my opinion just not as good as the locations they replaced.I never would have thought all 3 of those events would have had to change their venues.
 
I have always wondered if there is a venue in Atlantic City that would work well for The Super Billiards Expo. It would be farther for me to travel but I would still make the trip. I love the Expo regardless of venue and will always go and support this event.

It's A Shame SBE

I use to book this Expo in advance and be very excited about it. Well its only an hour away. If something else comes up, I wont feel so bad.(No big loss,No Hair off my chinny chin chin).

Any hotel convention center would be better. A casino would be ideal, can't understand why they wouldn't welcome a few thousand out of town degenerate gamblers. You would think a casino would cleanup on SBE , but it takes a lot of floor space and most casino conference areas are not that big.

I'm good for one more, but if the action is as slow as last year....this could be it. Nice to have the creature comforts provided for. The last location was atrocious.

What's he supposed to do when the building changes completely all you is keep trying to find a better option just like when a pool hall closes there isn't many places out there to hold an Event this big unfortunatly what can u do it happens

Allen is doing the best he can do, we were all spoiled by the convention center. Last years place was ok with me, was not the convention center but still ok. If one dont approve of Edison dont go,it's just that simple.

WOW no big picture thinkers here. Allen generates alot of traffic and money from the floor vendors. This means the people walking the show have to have money. Money to spend on the merchandise that vendors plunk down 1200 a table for. How much money do you think will trickle their way in a Casino? He (Allen) has to take this into consideration and I am sure that he does.

You're right a casino would clean up and the cue and case guys would be broke.

I must have hit a sore spot. To bad for the few AZer's that don't approve. Just read the responses most agree with me. Any way those who know me Know I spent thousands at the show through the years as well as thousands in trade as well. I think I have a right to an opinion. Maybe Allen will see this as constructive criticism to help this show in the future. I am not trying to knock the show. Last year -well just read what others are saying. Warning this year is on the same path. What a Shame. Thats right Banks !
 
I'll miss is it but I won't go this year. I get tired of being lied to. The single elimination tournament format sucks but wouldn't be so bad if they had lots of mini tournaments. Every year they promise them and every year they have less and less and in fact last year they didn't have any. I love seeing the vendors and watching the pros but I want to play the game to! Unless you want to sit in a long line at a gambling table there's no where to play.

You are definitely entitled your opinion. The "real" issue is that you started this thread in the WRONG FORUM. This is the Wanted/For Sale forum, not the Main forum where it should be.

People are trying to sell things here, not discuss a location for a cue show / pool tourney.

Dude-- all you have to do is just not post to, or read this thread. Problem solved. How this post effects someone from "trying to sell things" is just beyond me. Actually, as a buyer it is good. I didn't spend any money on this thread, so now I can buy more stuff! Woo-hoo!

ps- and last year did suck. Even worse than the first year when they had one change machine for the quarters and 1000 guys trying to get change. Yup, they charged by the game.

All i can say is allen is a stand up guy and is trying his best,,i will be there with Bells on,,,and to surport billiards,,it is still the best event of the year ,,and everyone allways get paid not like other tournamensts i hear about ,,i am sure he will try his best to make it better every year just like before,,,it is not so easy to find a place as good as VF,,i know i been trying also,,if is so easy why dont more people do it????

come and have a good time,,not about the place ,,it is about the pool and friendships and good times to remember for a life time,,i always have stories to tell for years and years about all the great times,,,

I agree The wanted for sale Nazi's are always on the lookout to chastise someone for stepping out of line. It cost them more time to chastise than to just move on and let it be.
