In no order ....

Barry Szamboti
Dennis Searing
Joel Hercek
John Showman
DPK
Tascarella
Black Boar
Manzino
Southwest
Richard Harris

Still think my list is holding up well.. I am surprised I never put Bill Schick in there initially (LOL ... the last cue I bought). Looking back he would be in and _____ would be out...@#%@#$^ Can't we make the list 15!!!! This way I could add Schick, Ginacue, Hailey, Eddie Young and Art Cantando without removing any of the great cuemakers already on the list.

My revised list for 2008:

1....Black Boar
2....Dennis Searing
3....Barry Szamboti
3....John Showman
4....Bob Manzino
5....DP Kersenbrock
6....Ron Haley
7....Joel Hercek
8....Art Cantando
9....Ginacue
10....Pete Tascarella

If We're Talking Dollar Amount (secondary Market Selling Price) Of The Same Design From Each Maker

Searing
Szamboti
Tascarella
Showman
Haley
Cantando
Black Boar (I know this is a weird spot for BB, but if we're going by 4pt 4 veneer, this is it)
Schick
Mottey
Gina

All good cuemakers listed above in every post...My question is, since I have never own one and hopefully will soon.....What about Eric Crisp (Sugartree) How do people feel about his cues?

Now here is a scenario, lets say you give Richard and Eirc similar pieces of wood to build a cue. They made them in thier own shops.....How do you think they would compare, and differ?
The cues had to built to same specs, same tip, but they used thier pins, and bumpers, but used thier own shaft wood and used thier own rings. Which cue would you like best and why?

I am not bad mouthing either cuemaker, I have the utmost respect for both of them, and I would buy either cuemakers cues in a heartbeat. I just want to get a feel for what people like, or dislike about each cuemakers cues?

Hope this makes some sence and wasnt just a bunch of jibberish, Im nursing a huge Migraine right now and I think its caused from a lack of playing pool:thumbup:

4....Bob Manzino
5....DP Kersenbrock
6....Ron Haley
7....Joel Hercek

9....Ginacue
10...Bill Stroud

Nobody has mentioned AE cues or Samsara.
I have been looking at some online including one at cornerstonecues.com.
Nobody has mentioned them??? Are they firewood or something, they look pretty nice.

All things being "equal" as in if each of them made a plain jane birdseye cue which one would sell for the most money if bought from a dealer and not from the cuemaker directly?

No idea how to order these but this is my ten.

Searing
Hercek
Szamboti - Barry
Schick
Sugartree
Fury - just kidding :-)
Cognoscenti
McWorter
SouthWest
Black Boar
Gina
Joss West

I guess my primary criteria would be which one has the longest waiting list? To me that speaks to the demand and relative rarity.

If you want a cue that is impervious to the elements then you need to buy a Cuetec or a Smart cue r some other fiberglass/carbon fiber clad cue.

Cognoscenti
Tascarella
Paul Mottey
Black Boar

Mike Bender
DPK
Southwest
Bert Schrager
PFD
Tim Scruggs
Skip Weston

I can't count so if that's more than 10 sorry but 10 just won't work with the amount of high valued cuemakers out there.
I'll go ahead and take Sugartree x10

Just out of curiousity.........and if all of the designs were equal.........how would you rate the top ten cuemakers in order? #1. being the easiest to sell for the highest amount. #2 being 2nd and so on. I guess what I am looking for is which cues have the highest values (not necessarily the best playing). I am only interested in your opinion in current cuemakers not those of the past.

Thanks!
Anthony

the next 10......imho. the secondary market on them has always been a little weaker that others you see mentioned above in these lists.

btw...my two tied for #3 was unintentional. oops....

Since we are listing our opinions, being one of only 12 men to be inducted into the American Cue Makers Hall of Fame, never making the same cue twice, with playability as the biggest factor for his cues.....I will stick with my Schick over all other cues that I own, of which many have been listed.

What is so special about Ginacue's? I Googled them to find their website, no luck. But I did see some for sale at $99.00?! What gives?

To answer your questions, Ginacue does not have a website.

Ernie was inducted to the ACA (American Cuemakers Association) Hall of Fame in July 1994, the 4th person to be so honored, after George Balabushka, Herman Rambow, and Burton Spain. His craftmanship is legendary for playability, artistry, and innovation. It is common knowledge that his work is among the most collectible.

The $99 cue you may have seen is a "replica/tribute" cue to one of his well known designs, probably made in China, and Ernie is not involved.
