Great win! I was pulling for him at the end. The check says $40,000. Is that right? That's a good number! :wink:
 
Congrats. I saw him in Vegas a couple of years ago...I hope he comes back to Vegas.

Corteza looked very impressive. I watched the final on the stream, it was the first time seeing him. Damn...is all I have to say.
 
I love the way he just smiles when he misses, which was very seldom. But when he is on the table, he is very serious.
 
His house is like 3 kilometers from where I live here in Manila. I dont know him personally though. But when I go to Sta. Lucia (where he usually plays or hangs out), you know he's there when there's like 50 people surrounding a table.

Im sorry Joey, but this is the 2nd time Ive heard you call Corteza "Dodong Panacan". Refresh my memory a bit cuz I specifically remember Dodong Panacan as an older man who played near Ilustre and occasionally at Carom in Victoria Plaza.
I grew up in the same neighborhood as Corteza (Obrero) and played in the same room he did. I have never heard him being called Dodong Panacan.

Im guessing you have played with him and he told you that that's his nickname during his time in Davao?

Just for my own curiousity... it looks like that translates to "the Panacan Kid" (panacan being a city/region in the PI), is that correct?

Yes, Lee Van will be playing in the Ultimate 10 Ball Championship, June 17-20th.
unless that $40,000.00 is weighing him down too much.
