Varney Cues to sponsor Strickland!!!

Cuetec - World Champion's Choice.

I'd hate to see Kevin's reaction when Earl lauched into a tirade denouncing Varney cue as "made by a guy with a ten-cent stroke" after he loses a match.

I can see it now, "no wonder he gave me this cue for free, it's worthless, I can't get any better with it, my game is going backwards, oh I am supposed to play with the small end.......ok forget about what I said, until I say it again, then I'll mean it......."
 
Kevin!!!! Whoa.... must be you make a shatterproof shaft huh? Or better words... an "EARLproof" shaft. LOL.
 
I wouldn't sponsor him a taco at the Bell!!!
He was in Vegas a few years ago doing a trick shot routine at the BCA trade show. When finished he looked around the crowd and asked if anyone had any questions. I asked why his shaft was turning blue & that it looked like a wood shaft...was it? I can not repeat on this forum the things he said about my Mother.:eek: Good thing they had a lot of security.;)
 
he asked if there was any questions after performing a trick shot routine and you asked about his shaft knowing that it would probably get him in trouble with his sponsor. kevin i know youre tring your best to get your foot in the door with some of the more reputable cue makers out there, but why are you seemingly always stirring the pot. if you had a question about his shaft being wood or fiberglass you should have asked afterwards.(privately) i know that your customers(mostly satisfied i might add) will back your every action or remark on here(az) but you strike me as a person who isn't happy if anyone ever questions your opinion on any subject or cuemaking skill. yet you intentionally put earl in a position to possibly lose his cuetec sponsorship or at the very least get into some kind of trouble with them. what purpose did that serve. you already knew it was a wood shaft(being a up and coming cuemaker and all)
 
and before you come back at me, im just trying to point out that you are building a pretty good reputation as a cue builder and it would seem to me that you would want to focus your energy there as opposed to being in arguments and conflicts with people which might cost you some peoples business.

Here's an idea: if Earl didn't want to risk losing sponsorship he should've followed the conditions of his ... SPONSORSHIP.

I saw Dave Berkowitz yesterday, out on parole, he was carrying three Saturday Night Specials, a sawed off shotgun, two pointed sticks & a note that read: "Stay Calm! Just Here To Kill Folks". I was going to ask his parole officer why he had all of that stuff but, you know, I didn't wanna get him in trouble.

I wouldn't mind a taco bell sponsorship! It is after all almost lunch time after all!

Hehe, you know in all honesty I totally agree with those cuemakers out there that will not "sponsor" a player by giving them a free cue. It's all to sad when that cue gets sold the same week it is recieved by the player :( ...

I think the "people" that you are referring too, wouldn't know a decent cue if it hit them smack in the head. And the customers who buy his cues probably admire a person that not only builds a great cue, but is also willing to voice his opinion. :cool:

And I think it's abundantly clear that someone needs to smack you in the head for continued idiocy.

You do remember those words you said you were going to eat right?

I don't want to get in the middle of this, but here is a quote from Mark Tadd a while back.

"ive always had a problem paying for a cue ive never seen or played with. so thats why i never played with a cue no more expensive than a cue tech for the most part. but ive ran across a few cues that i hit with that were incredible but someone elses and not for sale.
and i could play much better with them. so i never owned a good hitting cue and thats the reason i used to experiment and practice so much because it didnt always do what it was supposed to do and i thought it was me ."
