When are you going to grow up???? I'd think recent trials and tribulations would have fattened you up with some humble pies but all I see is status-quo.

Why would he want to do that. It would only improve his business here on AZ and its taken such a beating that I doubt it will last much longer here anyway. There is always ebay after all.

Thank you everyone for the kind words about the cue...I appreciate it.:)
As far as me not sharing my suppliers...are you serious? I know MANY cuemakers that will NOT share certain suppliers. Might as well ask me were I get my shaft wood and what I pay...might as well as for my credit card numbers as well. Give me a break. Seems the only people that have a problem with it are the same few...over & over again...its very predictable & old. If you have to know....it was a cuetec prototype from back when they were steelstix....you have to know the secret handshake to order one though.;) :D

Probably because the current attitude is to use any tidbit of info and turn it into an insult. "Not even a known blank maker" etc...

Great looking cue. A Lucky guy...

Logic, why do you have to always justify everything that is said by Kevin. No one was disrespectful to Kevin until he acted rude to another forum member. If you do not see or understand that was wrong then you need to open your eye's Sweet Heart. :banghead:

Kevin stated that the blank was not his which certainly is the right thing to do and I applaud him for his honesty. However, when any of us post our work to a public forum, we do so looking for comments about our work. We also have to expect questions if we do not give a clear description of what we have posted, and that is the way things are.

Now, I understand that Kevin may be a little gun shy posting here on this forum after his ordeal over the last 3 or 4 months. But, before anyone can get over it and move on Kevin also has to stop stirring the pot. Until Kevin stops doing what he did here it will never end, because he will continue to open himself up to the attacks that will follow.

In the end, it is easier to just answer a simple question than to put a Bulls Eye on his forehead.

Oh and by the way Logic, when are you going to stop praying to another man, get off you knees homey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:speechless: :barf: :shocked2:

All I can Say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!:woot:

it's not about "having to know".i was curious since you said it was 25 years old.being 25 years old,i didn't think you it would be giving up any secrets,so i asked the customer, not you.

actually,i am not interested in Cutec blanks anyway, and i would never ask you anything,so don't worry.

if you could step outside yourself and look at the things you say to people, you would understand why people are having problems with you.

thing is all i did was ask an AZ member, who bought one of your cues, what kind of blank it was made from, and you take it upon yourself to answer for them ands start acting crazy.then you insinuate that i am trying to spy on your cuemaking secrets,or that i need info from you.trust me when i say that i have no interest in your cuemaking secrets.

Kevin-

I can only assume that you are including me on that "same few" comment because, let's face it... I have often given you a hard time. Understand this though: 9 times out of 10 the hard times are created by the one who over-reacts to a simple question! In this case it happens to be a question that you have received before and, wouldn't ya know it! You responded with the same defensive, abbrassive arrogance then that you display here.

Not everyone can pull off a full splice so, when a cuemaker posts a cue that he admits he did NOT cut the blank for, I think the question is a fair one. Had you simply answered, I would have said "Nice job. Traditional and attractive. Nice conversion!"

But instead you took the low road... again! Understand man, you create a lot of these messes yourself, then stand back and blame the "same few" problem starters. Just realize Kev, that plenty of people on AZ like your work. But your professionalism... Well, THAT could use some work.

Just think about that one.

Take a closer look at my veneers & colors compared to the cue you linked.;)

I'm sticking with my guess, I cherrypicked 3 or 4 blanks from them a cpl yrs ago and they had different veneer combos.

Not to get in the middle of the great crusade here, but to all concerned,
In all fairness to the woman and her husband who just received this nice cue, can all pissing contests please be held in the next room over, instead of ruining this moment for the couple? Some decorum around here would be greatly appreciated by the rest of the viewers and members.
Thanks,
Dave

The cue is a beauty, I like the way the points are at the bottom, it's alittle different than most. I hope your husband enjoys his new cue.

Nice catch (maybe) it's kind of ironic the blank Schmelke is offering is rosewood, and 20 plus years old just like K.V.'s blank......but wait K.V. stated the cue he assembled is fullsplice...If K.V. actually used the Schmelke blank that would mean he is being inaccurate in his description of the cue ( is that possible ). I guess the only way to truely know for sure is to have the wrap changed ( btw I'm not suggesting you do this ).....anyways when K.V. stated that the blank was 25 years old I was curious as to who made it also....oh well congrats to the new owner...

The Schmelke is a full splice... with a handle added. :grin-square: great blanks by the way, Steve Klein made a really nice cue out of one a while back that was listed on here.

And he's still kicking himself in the butt for not buying more of the initial find. What Schemelke told me back then, was that they had found these up on a shelf they were clearing to make room for more wood.(must be nice) Thought that they had been made by their grandfather. No one presently in the shop, knew how they had been made. The few that I bought had the black red blue white veneers shown on their website. The rosewood seemed denser than the stuff you get today, but that my have been just the ones I got. Stretching my rapidly fading memory, I believe I bought those blanks about 3 years ago.

Just a side note, I don't know why cuemakers are so hyper about using someone else's blanks. As long as you don't make false claims, it's sometimes just good business.

Dave-
With all due respect, this "crusade" was created by Kevin. If you want to reprimand anyone, its him. Kevin started the thread and admitted outright that the blank was not his. The owner's wife (who initially ordered the cue) also posted and Masonh posed his question to her. Once again, Kevin read WAAAY too much into the inquiry and posted in his usual arrogant and defensive manner.

If anyone started this mess, it was Kevin. Don't blame others for wanting an answer to a simple and fair question.

I ordered this cue for my husband as a gift. Didn't know much at the time about cues, but just wanted something special for him that he would never think I would buy. It took a while, but I'm happy with the result, and so is my husband.

Thank you Mr. Varney for a nice cue, I appreciate it.
Bless you and yours!

Hey GulfHills-
Its a nice cue you ordered there. Congrats. Hope your husband knows how lucky he is to have a wife that buys him cues!!! Lots of wives think of stuff like this as unwarranted spending! Lol.

Thanks,
B

kevin...

do me a favor boy...

show me some humility.

you owe me that.

prove your worth to me.

that's life and that's the way life is.

as my friends in missouri say:

Show Me....
do it... show me and masonh too. i don't give a hoot how hard it is for you to do; that is only your fear - just "do it".
