Very nice simple player. IMHO, Yellowheart does hit as good or even better compared to Purpleheart. It's a simple looking wood, but the hit says it all. Could be made to look better with a very nice ringwork.

Maybe they did unless you lived in Harvey Martins Pocket during his entire life you can't say other wise, now can you!!!!!!
While I agree the cue looks fine how do you know that it is has playability? 
Have you played with the cue, I mean no cue maker in the world makes perfectly great cues every time they build one. Last to compare this cue to a Plain Jain Searing is another interesting observation, please explain how you make this comparison, other than through loose talk and no thought.
Kevin makes a fine cue, and my comments are not aimed at anything he has said or done. However, who the hell are you to tell another poster that their opinion about rings is some how sacrilege. Everyone has room for improvement, that is why most of us post photo's of our cues here on this forum. Comments on another's work that are respectfully are never out of line and should always be welcomed.
I suppose what I am trying to simply say is, when you post something think about it before you hit send, that way you won't look so foolish.!!!!!!

i will be receiving the cue in the mail either tomorrow or friday. i will let all of you know how this varney yellowheart hits. this will be my second merry widow varney and if this cue plays anything like my first one i am in for a treat

Interesting looking cue. Just curious though, why the three different
woods? Was this made to order for a customer?

well, i received the cue today......it is a monster as expected...crisp stiff hit, almost identical to my first varney merry widow but i would say a little stiffer(which i like). the satin finish looks awesome! It gives the cue a unique vintage look.
kudos to you kevin for creating another monster player, i think this is going to be my fulltime player

Music to my ears!:thumbup: Glad you are pleased. Everyone knows...performance is #1 with me. Its a learning adventure as I strive to find the ceiling for maximum playability. I'd glue up some grocery pallets if I thought it'd play better...LOL!!!
