I was planning on playing in the bca solo tourneys in vegas this may. I was told that there are solo events 24/7. Does anybody know what the entries are and about what they pay out, so I don't waste a trip out there. Played in too many tourneys where the pots were slashed. Thanks for any info.

Not exactly sure on your question, but let me tell you what is going on.

There are the normal BCA Tourneys going on, Scotch, Singles, Team, that take 8 days or so. On many nights at the beginning and around Monday/Tuesday Nights, they have "Mini's" These are 8 person tournaments with $10 or $20 buy-ins. They pay 1st and 2nd place.

$10 pays $50/$20
$20 pays $100/$50 (I think)

There are also 'action' tables going on at all hours. You can usually find a $10 or $20 challenge table. King of the hill style. Plus some big money matches going on, etc. etc.

The Mini's don't run every day, as when Singles and Teams are just starting and everyone is still in, they take all the tables.

Does that answer your questions?

Chippard,

Please go to the BCA Pool League web site at www.playbca.com for more details about the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championship. This is the tournament you and Stuckart are talking about. Please also feel free to contact our office at 702-719-7665 or email me.

Thanks,
Holly

Be sure to stop by my booth and say hi, Jeanette asked if I was going to have my booths, she does challenge matches and my husband the photographer will shoot photos with fans and Jeanette.
We will also pull for the Gold Crown V there. If you can't make it follow the link below and get your ticket.

I'll be there the 10th through the 16th. We will be offering free instruction again, Monday through Friday, in the Cue Tech instructor room, for anyone attending the BCA tournament. Stop in for some great free clinics, and have a quick video analysis done, if you're interested in seeing what you do. Last year we did these for $20, and had two tables and two instructors busy all day, every day! If you're an AzBr, please at least stop in and introduce yourself! Randy and I, along with all of our other instructors, look forward to meeting as many of you as we can!

BCAPL tournament in May

We welcome all AZ posters and lurkers to stop by the registration office and say hello to me.

I am always in the building and would like to meet a few of the AZ family.

It really is the greatest pool show on earth. We expect close to the 7,000 players we had last year. 2 Pro events, the TAR BAR, and much more. All the favorite vendors will be there!.

The payouts aolutely suck and are not worth the time. Always has, always, always will be.

Not dad, but bdk to topic, payouts suck!!!!

I assume you're talking mini's????

Gotta assume you're talking about the payouts for the mini tournies. I got 2nd in the Open last year and got $8000. Not bad for 3 days of playin pool. It paid $10,000 for 1st. I do agree the payouts are small on the mini's, but the only reason for the mini's is a chance for people to play some extra pool. There's also plenty of people around who think they play real good, but don't. If you ask around, you can find plenty of soft action. It's well worth the trip and a great tourney. Always run well, with some of the best people in the Country making sure it runs smooth and efficient.

chipperd,

Are you entered in the singles event? If you're going to try to play in the evening / night mini's, they may check for your entry. If you're a "master" level player, you can only play in the "master" mini's (they will check). If you're playing in the "players" event (for non-league BCAPL players), you're considered a "master" by the people running the mini's. When you enter the Riviera by the convention center entrance, you'll notice a group of tables across the foyer. They'll be going 24 / 7 during the entire event. You can gamble your brains out there. Otherwise the payouts listed elsewhere on this thread are correct :sorry:.
