That’s true, I’m just burned out on it and the $9 coffee pisses me off. I remember when Vegas is where you ate steak when you were broke. Not any moreStill a lot of fun, especially the speak easys. Excellent restaurants, shows etc.

Your best line ever, "Where you ate steak when you were broke!" Made me laugh. Had a lot of excellent T-Bone steak dinners downstairs at the Horseshoe, thanks to that little comp ticket the floor man gave me in the poker room. They were usually good for two people as well. That’s true, I’m just burned out on it and the $9 coffee pisses me off. I remember when Vegas is where you ate steak when you were broke. $18 IPA's everywhere, even "cheap" places. That’s true, I’m just burned out on it and the $9 coffee pisses me off. I remember when Vegas is where you ate steak when you were broke. Not any more![]()
Graveyard steak and eggs specials. Ham steak and eggs 95 cents. Las Vegas was definitely different then.Your best line ever, "Where you ate steak when you were broke!" Made me laugh. The “food” scene in Vegas off strip and on strip is magnitudes better than it’s ever been. It’s surpassed LA as a food city imo.$18 IPA's everywhere, even "cheap" places.
I stick to Nobu, Javier's and a few other places for food.
I live in a good food desert
I used to go to the Shoe with John Morton (Rude Dog) and hit the $2 steak 2-3 nights a week, some nights his girl Jan would come along. Those are my best memories of Vegas. No BS all the glitz and glam that came 10-15 years later was fun, but the memories of Rude Dog and I running around town are by far my favorite.Your best line ever, "Where you ate steak when you were broke!" Very out of control. I was there for acs leagues and it wasn’t easy to get to any other place quickly from the west gate And get back to play. basic breakfast Is $60 for 2 in the hotel. The cheapest place to eat was a couple slices of shitty pizza and a soda I believe was $24. The days of cheap food in Vegas is gone. I’ve Been to vegas many times for work and pool and my wife and I agreed this time if we never go back we are cool with that. Especially for acs which is pathetic from the turn out to the pay outs. It’s definitely not worth the trip.passing on it is a better idea

I agree there are amazing food choices. My wife loves Gordon Ramsey so we Always hit one of his places. For the first time I was disappointed with one of his restaurants. we went to his fish and chips place. Not that it wasn’t good but it was $80 for a couple fish and chip baskets and 2 beers. The last day I was there we walked the strip and ended up grabbing a beer at Ramsey pub at Cesars . I had a beer and she had 2. She saw the scotch eggs was on the menu and she loves them . They used to be 2 eggs cut into 4 halves. Now it was 1 egg cut in half. That bill was $70. I don’t mind paying for quality especially food but they both felt like rip offs to me.
I bet it lowered everyone’s costs significantly . I’ve had people say oh if you rent a car you can get out of down town and find cheaper food. So I need to add the cost of a rental car every day I really don’t need so I can get cheap food? That doesn’t seem to make much sense lol and for a pool tournament you still have the problem that you don’t get a lot of time to eat between matches. The real rub for me is paid parking and resort fees.
Give the customer a little edge as they have the mortal nuts in the casino.
The maximize profit at every interaction with a customer has went a bit too far imo.
Sure we have inflation and costs have went up on food & beverage, however paying $50 resort fees for a pool I’m never using and WiFi is bullshit.
I’m only speculating but I think MR choose Orlando for the Mcup as it lowered their production costs significantly.
Best

What was brutal for me after living there forever is if I drove from La to Vegas and stayed at a casino. The in and out with a car 3-4-5 times a day is a huge pain in the ass, paying a valet every trip is $100/day in parking without a tip. Back in the day I’d tip the valet guys $40 and was in and out much as I wanted.I bet it lowered everyone’s costs significantly . If I parked like a tourist on Friday night and stayed until Sunday it would be a different story.
Downtown sucks anyways. I still own an apt building there, haven’t been there in 2-3 years.
I got a house again in Vegas a few months ago. So I’m never anywhere near the strip or downtown these days. Cost of living in Vegas is still significantly less than LA.
Vegas economy is strong, however rents are a hair lower & vacancies are up a hair.
let me know how that works out for you in Vegas lol it’s insane. Here's how I handle matter$ when it comes to food prices.
I'll find a good restaurant that'll give yah a GOOD meal with ALLOT of food for about $22 dollars and eat half, warm up the other for a later meal.
Honestly it wouldn’t do me any good. I don’t get a room with a microwave or anything to heat it up. I guess if you get a suite or something that works.Did it last year....
Pool players, darters, cornhole, etc. need to treat the hotels better and we can move on from the Westgate. I see people drink beers and just put them right there where they finish. Trash bathrooms, trash the playing area, etc.Very out of control. We won't get into a nice hotel like the pros, because we act like amateurs.
