Very Sad Day - AZB loses a valued member

Bill was everything, and more, mentioned in this thread. I have shot pool with him and enjoyed his company many times at the Billiard Palace... He was a great guy all around. He was the only person I ever bothered to meet from this site.

He will be missed here in Alaska, no doubt. He was A local fixture in the pool scene here and friend to many. Everybody knew and liked him.

RIP, Bill

I really wish that we could get a memorial board set up here, it would be a nice place to remember some of our friends who are no longer with us.

RIP Breakup, never met him but from all accounts, he was a very well-liked person which is always a good thing. Deep sympathy to family.:(

Bill was a stand up guy, he will be missed by all who knew him.

I know him from the palace, but I remember this one time that I ran into him at derby city. He was flipping coins in the main tournament room for the right to stand in one place while the loser had to walk the hall for the next round of drinks. They had obviously been doing this for some time, and Bill was already double fisted and having himself a good time. Well the "loser" comes back and hands him his earned drink, but Bill has two already in his hands, so he holds them both up and eyeballs 'em and proceeds to set one on the floor. He gets part way there and stands up & tries again. this goes on for a few times, until he finally gets the semi empty drink to the floor. Non-chalantly he stands up, breathes a heavy sigh of relief & exclaims "whew...it's a lot farther than it looks." while reaching for the next one.
Man he seriously cracked me up.
RIP, Bill

What a shock. Azbilliards has lost another good guy. He was incredibly witty with his humor and clever with his photo manipulations. My condolences to his close friends and family.

i agree pool players are a big family, I dropped out of the scene for about 14 years and came back and it didnt seem like i missed a day, bigdog I know your family, etc. its a small community in a big world and for better or worse once your a member of it and its in your blood, you'll awalys come back no matter how good or bad you play, or how much you bet etc. Were all different but the same and a memorial board is a brilliant idea.

I agree - here is a short list of posters we have lost over the years - feel free to add some that I have missed... I think that a memorial page would be a great idea.

Please don't forget Dave Syrja. He had a great wit about him, too. He was the first poster from the CCB that I met.

I think a Memorial section would be very nice. One for posters, and another for pool players we have lost. It's sad when you stop for a moment and just think of who we have lost in the past few years in the pool community.

I read this when Willie first wrote the thread, I had to run out and I didnt know what to say. Many days later I still dont know what to say

I never met Breakup but I loved his humor!

Very sad

I for 1 was a follower of this feud. It saddens me to hear that breakup is gone. AZB has lost another good poster.

My condolences to Bill's family. May he rest in peace.
