Video clip of Earl lesson

cool man looks like he gave you a little solid advice. it was kinda loud in there wasn't it, people screaming in the background has always annoyed me. eitherway it looks like you started hitting that shot better after you worked on your bridge a little. hope it helped and was worth it

Thanks for posting that, Fleece. Interesting to hear how a player of Earl's calibre coaches. I have no idea how you can bridge like that though, seems so alien to me! Then again, I've used an open bridge all my life!

Thanks again, hope to see more!

He immediately change my bridge. I must admit it gave me a VERY hard time at first (look at the first few attempts). However, I been using it for about a week now and it is working better for me. Especially when putting spin on the ball.

Thanks for sharing your clip. You're a pretty tall guy, the first thing that struck me was that you could move your right leg back about far enough to knock that guy in the yellow shirt off the chair behind you. I think if you get lower your bridge will feel better also. Just my opinion os something to try. Far be it for me to suggest something earl didn't . :)

I would have also told you to spread your legs, and bend your knees to get closer to the table, obviously your tall, and your current stance is hampering your abilities. Look at Earl when he shoots, get down there.

Earl also gave you solid advice, its nice to see this side of Earl, thanks for posting.

Great vid! I agree that it is refreshing to see a gentle side of Earl. If I could, I would like to give you a piece of humble advice. I noticed that you have a good follow through, but you're flexing your cue shaft on the table after your stroke. If you like your cue, I would strongly advise against this because wood does not have a perfect memory and this action will tend to warp your shaft over time. It's great that your follow through is developed well like it is, but you should devote some serious table time to keeping your tip off the felt. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on your lessons with Earl!

Keep that cue off the felt. raise it immediately after every shot. bend your legs down more since you're really tall. I recommend doing some squatting exercises.

I don't have sound on my video, but I can see what he is doing. You are getting some good advice from Earl and from people on here, in particular SPINDOKTOR and 3andstop.

I'm sure Scott Lee can help you, He sees the same things we do, and knows how to help you.

Considering that I am a personal trainer, that is a really interesting recommendation...

You'd be surprised to know that I know some people who does those sort of things. this also includes a pregnant woman who plays pool. :D

anyway, have you tried while setting for a shot, bend your posture a bit sideways? as this would help you bend your knees perpendicularly to your line of shot without looking awkward.

by the way, nice bridge. actually your bridge now is better than mine! I most often times use an open bridge since it is much easier for me and it doesn't make me look like a regular player. :D

does anyone have a decent photograph of the bridge in this video, perhaps earl doing it or anyone really. my closed bridge is quite crude really and not that precise and i've been meaning to master this bridge for a while... don't know quite where to start though. or maybe my fingers are just not cut out for it i dunno...
