For those interested, my university (Colorado State University) recently created a couple of well-done marketing videos highlighting things I do in some of the mechanical engineering courses I teach. If you are curious, check them out:

video showing some examples of what Dr. Dave's students do in the Mechatronics course he teaches (brand new)

video interview dealing with how Dr. Dave incorporates his passion for pool into the engineering classroom (released last year)

Enjoy,
Dave

What brand of table do you have at home professor ?Are your other hobbies related to your vocation ?

That's awesome keep up the great work teaching in the classroom and in the poolroom. Love all your videos.

I'm very disappointed by this video. When you are going to stop that nonsense, get your priorities straight, and devote your entire life to pool?

I have an 8' Conneley ... nothin' special, but it is a nice size for filming.

The main hobby I've tied into my vocation is pool.

I also bowl, road bike, mountain bike, ski, and hike. There's lots of engineering and physics in those things too, and I mention some that stuff in classes too, but the main hobby (and 2nd vocation) I bring into the class is pool.

Thank you for everybody for their supportive posts. I appreciate it.

Best regards,
Dave

Thank you for encouragement. I'll show your post to my wife to see if it helps my case any. :grin-square:

Actually, I do have plans to retire from my "day job" within the next 4 years. Then I will work exclusively on my pool stuff.

Catch you later,
Dave

I am a junior mechanical engineer and I was taking a break from mechatronics homework by checking out AZB only to find this and realize that I better get back to it.

Thanks for your time and effort in , oh my I'm kind of drunk but thanks for your efforts and patients.
