Vivian Villarreal got them again

doesn't say what a "full field" is. And $200 entry tournament with $1000 added money is, well, stupid.

Is a full field normally 64 or 128 players? Seems better then no tournament at all, if some of the players can be there anyways (due to non refundable plain tickets?, and other expenses that are non refundable).

For those who wonder about their refunds, I reached out this morning and was told all entries were refunded last week. While it's strange that I still haven't received mine, I'll just wait patiently.

As of late, the post office and society seem to slow down, and embrace the 3 day holiday, which was Only one day.

If there's a slack moment in the mail this Veterans Day was the perfect storm, it's all good.

Two weeks....:nono::poke::shrug:.

Pretty sure today marks 10 business days. Anyone else not received their refund yet? I still haven't seen mine.

Hmmm... Lawyer at $200 an hour, probably 20 hours minimum to do that kind of job. .... No sponsor yet. $43.92 in my pocket. Whatever will I do?

Not that I necessarily disagree with you, but for pool it's not the sort of path most can/will take.

I'm reminded of the time the PBTA (men's pro tour) had a sponsorship from Camel. Somehow the tour ended up short $400,000 in the prize funds due to "other sponsors" who pulled out. Camel decided they didn't want to be involved any more and it cost them $800,000 when they were sued.

Oh, and somehow the players who were owed the $400k still didn't get paid.

I bet the lawyers got paid.

If I was waiting for a refund I think I would at least contact the cc used for payment and see if they could assist with getting this refund.

That should work for entry fees,, but not directly for travel expenses. However some credit cards provide a degree of travel insurance that might cover some/all of the loss on nonrefundable flights and rooms. Worth checking out.

And people wonder why pool suffers financially and is looked down upon by most any business person with a brain and check book.
I was told that the Camel/PBTA fallout was used in business school classes as an example of how not to go into a sponsorship agreement.

Still nothing here. I'll give her time till mid next week, then send her a reminder. If I'm again given the same 5-10 business days excuse, I'll file a chargeback. While I haven't seen anything on social media, the 3 people I asked haven't received theirs, and including us, 5 so far.

Paul, Don’t worry. Peter won’t be any problem for VV.
She may just be borrowing your money for a while.

But hey, The big names got paid.

Me neither yet

The event website (https://www.thetornadoopen.com/) shows 3 sponsors: Operation Rehab, The Billiard Directory, and ONB Online Business. I'm not familiar with any of them.

Here is some excellent irony. One of the 'sponsors' , Operation Rehab is apparently a consulting firm that helps troubled businesses get back on track. And while their website says nothing about being a tournament sponsor, they have Tornado Open as one of their clients.

I received the "refund" email the day before thanksgiving. Credit appeared in my credit card yesterday.
