I recently purchased the Pool I.Q. Series by Joe Villalpando. I was very impressed with these DVD's and strongly feel they are a must have for anyone at any level who is serious about improving their game. After viewing these DVD's , I had a couple of questions , so I called Joe and he was gracious enough to answer my questions over the phone on numerous occasions. At that point, I decided to visit Joe for private lessons. Joe resides in Iowa and I am from the western Pa area. I spent three days with Joe and it was a great experience. I found his knowledge, experience, and ability to teach very impressive. Since I drove six hundred plus miles to get there, I had very high expectations. He not only met those expectations, but exceeded them. He taught me in three days what it would have taken me years to learn on my own. I strongly recommend his DVD's (Pool I.Q.) and his private lessons to anyone.

Thanks again "Little Joe"

keep putting the heat on me!

Dave,

As you know, Joe is special. His DVD's are favorites of mine and he is a real pleasure to talk to on the phone. It is a long drive from Louisiana to Iowa so I keep putting it off but every post like yours puts a little more pressure on me to get off my bottom and go spend some time with Joe.

He teaches what it took me years to learn, and what I am slow relearning after a two decade break from pool. I'm sure that I could vastly benefit from a few days with him. I consider you a very lucky guy!

Welcome to the forum. Very nice first post.

Hu,
Thanks, you are exactly right, I am a very lucky guy. I took a couple decades off as well. It would be worth the trip. After my lessons, I shot in the Pa Campionships last night for Valley and came in 5th! Dave

Hi Larry,
It was nice meeting you too. I am looking forward to coming back to Iowa and bringing my wife who has just started shoting this past year. Hope to see you again soon. Dave

I'm only 50 miles away from Joe so let me know if you head this way. You would probably drive right thru town as Rt 74 runs right thru here.

When you first meet Joe it feels like you've been friends for many years. He projects very good vibes, he's a highly skilled player, he's been down the road... around he block... checked out a few alleys and out the other end. He's been there.. wherever you are, and he has a yearning to teach what he has learned. His DVD's are every bit as good as Joe is a person.

Now...if I could just tear myself away from this dammed forum and try working with the DVD! :groucho: :groucho: :groucho:

Three Groucho's!!! It don't get any better.

that I will do!

Jim,

You are someone I would very much like to meet too. You, Larry, and Joe all in basically the same place make the trip even more tempting. Once I am on the highway I have been known to make little side trips of five hundred miles or so on more than one occasion so fifty miles is hardly worth mentioning even if I am not passing through.

Joe came up to the Illinois Billiard Club a year or so ago and put on a demonstration that was well received by everyone. He also met me up at Red Shoes and worked with me for a few hours.

Very knowledgeable guy and very upbeat guy, too. Like someone said, it feels like you have known him for years.

I better get him up here again.
