I want someone to teach me how to bank with reference to one pocket

How to recognize where to hit the ball
rules for knowing when and how to choose to cross or stiff

how to spot the double kiss

possibly show me how to stroke to be consistent

I am looking for help from someone who actually knows
these things and can set them up and make shot after shot


I have not enough time to spend with theoretical stuff

CJ banks pretty sporty and he's in the same city. Get enough weight and you might be able to win your lessons. ;)
 
CJ is too tough for me,and I have spoken with him before
all I do is get confused talking twithhim

I want someone like Tom Wirth but I don't like to travel

Jeremy Jones explains things real well. I think he's still in Houston. Or just have John Brumback move to BigD. ;)

I think Bert Kinister is in Dallas and Joey Barnes hangs out in Dallas all the time, both of them are very strong Bank players.

Dude isnt going to become a better player now.

Maybe he will learn a new shot or 2. He isnt going to know when to call upon them though.

And all that is ok. It isnt about how well one plays: it is about how well one matches up. I am thinking dean knows that and came to terms with it decades ago.

JJ lives in the Dallas area he would be a great choice.

He is one of the best banks players and a great teacher too.

I am hoping someone will contact me personally

there are probably some oldtime players still hanging around

Black B is correct that I don't expect to become a really good player
I would just like to have some better banking skills

Great book. One caveat: a lot the shots are for old-school directional, nappy cloth. You'll have to just shoot them yourself on Simonis to see the differences. TONS of useful info. in BWTB.

I think you will find the Freddy's book too technical. i did.

Try Tor Lowery's book or website or DVD. Zero-X. His kicking video is the best.
You can also use his diamond system for medium to slow speed banks in one pocket.

There are only two essential parts to firm Banks. Center ball and speed.
The rest is just practice and experience.

to be so helpful

when billy writes i always listen,he was the best i ever saw when i was a kid,at least from our area

later i met Eddie Taylor,Eddie Kelley,Jersey Red and Ronnie,and Nick Varner,I don't know how to rate these players,but I am sure Billy does.In fact I hope he does ,it would be a great favor to us.

Dean, while I liked Freddy’s book I would recommend John Brumback’s dvd, “Secrets of a World Champion”.

Taylor banked better than all of them for starters. Ronnie also banked great, especially in One Pocket. He kicked equally as great. Varner banked great also, he's from Kentucky after all! Kelly and Red were both great One Pocket players and did everything well, including banks.

How I'd rate them as One Pocket players, it would be close, with Ronnie on top and the other four in almost a dead heat. Five of the best of all time, that's for sure!
