He not only scammed me, but another good member on this forum. See this thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=307831 to get an idea of who NOT to do any future deals with. His full name is Jason Steven Tjhia. I gifted to his Paypal account $80 (I know, I shouldn't have gifted money, but thankfully it was only a small amount) on 2/14/13 for the Jacoby jump cue. He never communicated with me, it was always ME having to communicate with him. After not receiving the cue in a weeks time, I PM'ed him to ask if he has sent it and he told me that he sent it to the wrong address and that he would re-send it to me when he got it back. After another week I e-mailed and PM'ed him (2/28/13) and respectfully asked that he put the $80 back into my PayPal account, and that we would do business after he got the cue back. He e-mailed me back and said he had already shipped the cue on 2/26/13 and that it would take 5-7 days to get to me. It's now in the 8th day and of course, no cue . I have since gotten a PM from bobco729 saying he wired money into Mr. Tjhia's bank account for the Sly J/B cue and has yet to receive his cue either. He told me in a subsequent PM that he was going to pursue charges angainst Mr. Tjhia by contacting authorities in Seattle.

Anyway, just a heads-up for you good people on AZB who may or may not wish to do business with blowfish16, real name Jason Steven Tjhia.

Another newbie ripping off one of the good guys.
I know people in Seattle, and people here in Denver that deal with collectors in the Seattle area.
They will all be getting a phone call about Jason Steven Tjhia.
I'll give it a day to see if this guy comes forward and follows through with this Jacoby deal, as well as the Sly j/b cue deal with bobco.

I woke up in a bad mood and this made it worse.
Please Jason Steven Tjhia-aka blowfish16, make my day and take care of these issues.
If you don't have the $$ to cover shipping, I will help out.

Peace
Ted

Freakin epidemic of rip offs lately,,,,

Really sucks, but KARMA'S A ***** MUTHAS,,!!

Bob,
Contact your bank...they can probably reverse the bank wire transfer, since it was within the US, and it appears to have been bank fraud.

I searched the Seattle area public records...no Jason Steven Tjhia shows up anywhere in that area...what full name did you wire the money to, and what was the spelling?

Perhaps some of our "super computer detectives" can track down info on this person...

Sorry to hear man...but seriously...he's been a member for only about a couple of months and you sent a gift paypal that can't get refunded? No escrow? I know it isn't much $, but still...maybe lesson learned here. Hopefully it all get's taken care of.

bummer...

Trust is earned, guys.....can't be doing that kind of stuff with brand new users here with no history or known friends who'd vouch for them.

If I'm buying from somebody like that, they'd got to send the product first, plain and simple. It's just not worth the risk these days with so many scammers.

ALWAYS get a phone number from people who you will be sending money. Get an address too. This way you can also cross reference the two to determine the persons identity on veromi.com or by other means. Too many rip-offs not to be careful!
You might also want to contact Google's fraud department and let them know he is using a gmail account for fraudulent purposes. They might be able to help.

Disgusting. Good luck to the both of you to either getting your product or a refund. Good advice here from fellow members.

THERE YOU GO SIR> WELL SAID! TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.
I did the "ship first rule" with lot of peeps here. Whoever wants to deal with me accept the rule, no hard feelings for the rest.

Maniac buddy, I am really really sorry for your loss. It's not much but it's your money. This a**h***s should have both hands cut off.
Hope you'll manage to take your money back...I feel for you man...

Chris

It's ridiculous how these scammers get away with this, there should be a rule that unless you have 20 pos iTrader you ship first. Just my 2...

Guys like that really bring this site down. Makes it difficult for the users that are here for real deals to be confident to make transactions.
What's being done to stop dishonest people here? No system?

Not sure what you mean by "what's being done?" No one pays for the privilege to buy/sell here. The itrader was installed here only to be a helpful guide. Other than that, it's up to the individuals transacting their biz. You've got to do what you feel is best to protect yourself because ultimately, it's on you. (Escrow, escrow, escrow if you feel uncomfortable buying something).

Great place and great people for the overwhelming majority, but they'll always be a few cockroaches. So is life.

I'm new and have made a few deals here. I understand why the majority here don't want to deal with new members, but everyone isn't a scammer or out to make a bad deal. I have sent first, depending on an iTrader rating to somewhat protect me, even though that is no guarantee. I know that trust is earned and I appreciate this community working so hard to keep each other informed on who can be trustworthy to deal with as we'll as who needs to be avoided like the plague.

I just think if a newer member is not willing to send first to someone that has been a member for a long time with a good itrader, then they are likely trying to pull something.

That's my policy now

That is the best way to deal with those guy's, that way you're not taking any risk. Hopefully this will put a end to this.

Good advice to all Azer's.

I only found one number for a Tjhin in the Seattle area. I tried the number and it works but the answering machine is in another language... maybe you can try calling to get a hold of someone?
