This may've been asked or covered before and I might've missed it but,

Why, in the BCA Open, do the men race to 11 and the women only 9?

stupid questions are the ones that aren't asked! :p
 
Possibly it could be an issue with time. A womens race to 11 might usually take longer than a mens race to 11... That is just a guess.

My guess is that you are correct.
 
Stupid answer

Men can carry more than 110kg whereas women can only carry up to 90kg. :p
 
i can only handle staring at a women for a race to 9.

if it were a race to 11 I'd be bored by the time the hills get to 9.

Watching Women

I think it depends on who's doing the watching. I can watch women all day long and b as happy as sour flys in a glass of wine. However, I guess some folks would rather watch guys. :D

I wouldn't mind seeing the men playing races to 9 as well, this tournaments takes an eternity to complete as it is considering each gender only has a 64 player field.
 
Does it really matter what they race to, in the tournament?
When they get to the TV rounds, they all race to 7. :confused:
 
Race to 7 for a championship is a joke, ain't it?

Seeing how the last tournement I saw on tv replayed every game (with some cheesey music in the background) right after I just watched the game, it seems like they could at least make it races to 9.
 
The payout is smaller.

Women have better things to do.

The lines at the restroom are longer.

They can't stand as long wearing those spiked heels.

Need the extra time to do their hair and apply the makeup.
 
I dunno. I just figured that since folks usually comment on why the women can't play in the DCC (I think?) 'cause they are just as good as the men, then why not play to the races like the men do. JAT
 
In the beginning it was ten each but we know women can't count and men cheat so over the years there was a drift, a subtle change occured. Others say it was a kickback against feminism. Anyway, everybody knows men have more of everything.
Personally I think the real reason is to remind americans of 9/11. I could ask GWB to verify that but theres technical problems right now.

what i would like to know is... why dont i get to see pros run racks on tv like everybody always talks about?

i know the camera's are rolling etc... but seriously i rarely see a pro run a rack and never put more than one rack together on tv.... just makes me curious. from the way i see them play on tv i think harveywallbanger could beat them :)

I think you mean the US Open where women are not allowed to play because of the owner of that event.

....only if its a race to 5 and I'm playing like I'm "supposed to". Then it's a 5-0 victory for yours truly everytime.
