Stiffed

on this thread named "stiffed" is leo's name and address

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=109374

could be he does pay for his losing bets also.

ok, just seen it is in regards to this thread !

"Stiffed"....If that wasn't so sad it would be funny.
This Leo Liu/David Ying/aintnokaratestar is a real scamming machine.
I guess since he goes to Rutgers he figured he was smart enough to come onto AZ and scam a bunch of pool players.

From what I've seen, pool hall owners don't like little scammers that welch on bets.

Room Owners

Ted,

You got that right! No vested room owner wants someone that even offers a chance for shots fired, broken bottles or skulls, damaged property or even just a "disturbance" in their rooms.
Also, players who get stiffed sometimes don't come back to play no matter how caught up they were or how much action they once were...

Being from the Denver area just think "Dallas".

The Facts

Jerry,

I'm in NJ and I know a Leo Liu. I don't talk to him, but I do know who he is.

I was really hesitant on getting involved but if you PM your email address to me, you can give me some details and I'll try to help. With all due respect, I'm hesitant because your's is only one side of the story.

That said, I'll help you where I can, without sticking my neck out too far.

Eric >Leo does frequent Sandcastle

Eric,

The story is:

  • Leo AKA dakaratestar put a JB case (your favorite) up for sale.
  • Jerry-jlrowe bought it and sent a postal money order for $425 of his hard earned money.
  • dakaratestar did not send the case.
  • Later dakaratestar posted an Ernie Martinez cue that I was interested in untill Jerry posted "hey Leo, where's my case"
  • dakaratestar offered jlrowe the cue instead of the case, 2-months after the fact.
  • I offered to buy the cue from Jerry to help out but of course it never arrived.
  • dakaratestar did not send the cue, the case, he cashed the money order and Jerry's only option was to start this thread.

Those are the facts in the case, I could embellish on it but I wont.
Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.

Peace

Ted

Well, like I said, I just wanted to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

That said, I'm not about to go on some vigilante mission, especially with only part of the story. If these are the facts, tehn I would be willing to help Jerry as far as having a set of eyes on the ground. If follow up is needed with a local municipal/county court, I can do some leg work. Basically, I'm willing to help out to a certain extent.

Lastly, I know a lot of ppl around here (NJ/NYC) and a lot of ppl know me. If we have proof and need to get the word out, well, I'm as good as a tornado siren. It won't be a secret around here.

That's a good idea Skip, nice gesture and it is possible.
Right now it's about respect, and the focus is not to allow anyone to come onto AZ and get away with ripping off good people like Jerry.
If Leo Liu/David Ying/dakaratestar is having some problems come forward and talk about it.
The JB case needs to be delivered as promised by dakaratestar.
If he sends back the cash or EM cue that's OK too.

Another idea would be for dakaratestar to give the case to another AZ member or pool hall, and I will take care of the shipping charges to jlrowe.
All he has to do is deliver the case to someone, even anonymously.
I will take it from there.

I am impressed! You guys are virtual bloodhounds. Internet, facebook, local goodfellows and this guy is doomed. It's an AZ security net!! Well done.

Mike Howerton should make a sticky on this topic. If somebody engages in fraud with you and you used the United States Postal Service, call the Postal Inspectors in your area.

It is called mail fraud and every Postal Inspection Service division has a team which does nothing but investigate mail fraud. It is best to call Monday through Friday during normal working hours before the phones roll over to the 24 hour emergency center.

Click on the link and type in your zip code to get the phone number of the nearest Postal Inspection Service location.

Oh, and don't mess with the azbilliards brotherhood. You might be surprised who some of the members are.

Well I am at Sandcastle twice a week and will be bringing this to Eddie's attention when I drop off the 14.1 sheets for next weeks league.

This is overwhelming, Thanks guys for all the support, posts and some excellent PI work. I just got home from work. I definitely know i got enough info on this guy to have something done. I am a understanding person and i like to give someone the benefit of the doubt. I know that things can happen that put us in difficult situations. Thats why i was willing to work something out with him. Im easy to get along with, small payments a cue or something of equal value. It appears though that he doesnt want to work anything out. And now after seeing his name on a stiffed list, looks like he is making a habit of it. If he is not paying off his gambling debts i may not have to do anything. I will pm couple people on this. I dont want to put any az'er in a situation where there might be confrontation. I would feel responsible. I will update you on anything new pertaining to this situation.....

Jerry

Has anyone seen or heard from this guy yet? Hang in there Jerry.

I think Jerry is pretty busy untill tomorrow.
Plus he got so many PM's his fingers were blistered from responding all night.

It's amazing how much helpful information you get from the AZ community when something like this happens.
Nobody likes a scammer, and now he is on the "stiffed" list.
It's only going to get worse.

Hey Leo-dakaratestar, when my son was 8-years old taking Karate in a Junior Olympics program, his instructor gave him a special award for honesty.
We were at a restaurant and he found a $20 bill on the floor and returned it to the waiter.
I guess you never got that award.
Who was your Karate instructor, Bernie Madoff?

It's just always baffled me how someone could throw away their future for a measley $425.

When I was a kid I got caught stealing a quarter or something out of a payphone. My dad didn't get mad he just said "So your soul is worth a quarter? Because that is what your actions just said."

I spent a lot of time wondering what my soul is worth. I don't know, but I know it's worth a whole lot more than a stinking $425. Or $425,000 for that matter.

Come on Leo. This is probably the best mulligan you'll get IN YOUR LIFE. A chance to make it right with someone who is willing to let you make it right. Someone who would hate to see your future ruined with a felony fraud conviction so he is willing to drop the whole thing if you just man up, apologize and either give him the money back or the case or the other cue.

I don't know what you're studying in college, but with a postal fraud case on your record you won't have the option to be a banker, stock broker, policeman, lawyer, doctor, veterinarian, real estate agent, financial analyst, politician, teacher, professor, boy scout troop leader or any government or university job. In addition you would never be able to work as a nurse, pharmacist, radiologist, anything medical related.

You won't be able to work in any regulated industry like tobacco, liquor or firearms and your options will be severely limited if you should want to go into the military.

You're paying 100s of thousands to go to rutgers and get a good education. Why would you jeopardize all of it for a measly $425? Seriously?

Just call the man. Send the money. Get on here and say you're sorry, your life got out of control etc...

Heck, just call the man and explain the situation and see what you can do to make it right.

You just have to pick up the phone. Or the keyboard.

This kind of stuff really upsets me. I hope that you get your money back.
These kind of low-lifes are the first to cry police when something happens to them. Their too cowardly to go into the Military or to make a honest living.. Believe me when I tell you. This guy's whole rotten life is one big Hell.
Make sure you follow up with the Post Office Officials.
