From what I heard back in the day was he got it for his band and because he could buy it. Most of the time he wouldn't be able to hold a cue straight. Another of music's biggest con jobs. Johnnyt
I would doubt he played at all. He couldn't even play the guitar.
I heard Elvis could play pretty sporty, until you ran a couple racks on him....
.....then he'd get 'all shook up'.

Anybody that says Elvis did not have talent is crazy. Just try to do what he did and get back to me with the results. Many a talent was ravaged by drugs.
Would you be able to play well in this room!?

I took my wife there last year for our 40th anniversary. There is a tear in the cloth and a sign said the tear was from a guest trying a trick shot.
I doubt if he played much except to entertain guests.

First of all, when I saw the title of the thread I thought I was gonna be reading a comedy bit; nevertheless, ...................ELVIS WAS A MEDIOCRE SINGER AT BEST!!!! Sure; and I guess Louis Armstrong was a mediocre trumpeter, Buddy Rich couldn't play the drums worth a damn.....hell; Michaelangelo was fumble fingered while holding a chisel! You're forgiven if your older than seventy five, as I suspect you and a few previous posters are; but if you were younger than 15 in 1955 ........ please make provisions now to, upon death, donate your ears to science. There's a good chance they'll identify the abnormality. You'll be helping humanity!Talent to do what? He could not act, he could not play his guitar very well. His singing was mediocre at best. He didn't write the songs he sang or music or books. He was basically a product, that was carefully package and sold.
As time went by he became delusional, he began to believe his own hype and self important BS. What went wrong with him was it was not true and it is very hard to live a lie. At a point reality sets in.
I can only imagine what he saw near the end when he looked in the mirror. It must have been terrifying for him and to at the same time have no idea what to do.
Back to pool though, you can't fake playing pool. I have never seen a film of him playing that leads me to believe he never could play
