So I was playing at shooters in Waco last night in their Wednesday night tourney and my next match was against an Asian gentleman named Jimmy from dallas. I had heard he was in town on Friday and past four hundred to a friend of mine that I can give the breaks and the last two balls too, playing him even. So obviously that makes me want some action with him myself. So on to the match in tournament. Its a race to four, I break an run out the first game and then break dry. He gets to the eight and misses I make the eight then try to miss the nine but goes in off two titties cross-corner. Anyways make a long story short he wins the next four in a row (courtesy of me). So after the match I told him "I have never playe so bad" all my friendsheckling me as well. I'm just laughing in the inside, he says u got the last two for 20.00 a rack, I think for a second; "you're on." well someone told him my plans obviously cuz by the time he was out of tournament he wants to play even so we play a race to seven for a hundred. I win 7-2 he shoots maybe four times. Then quits and proceeds to tell me "you come to Dallas I'll give the seven out" I'm thinking when do I go? But now looking back should I go is what I ask y'all?!

Sorry so long

So you sold out of the tournament for $100. He notices you hustling him and then invites you to his home town to play..... I think you shouldn't go alone

If I was a gambler, I wouldn't drive that far for $100 sets unless you knew you had the nutz, which you don't. I mean, going up there and breaking even (or losing) makes for a long drive home. And....depending on what poolhall you're gonna play at, you might take paulempor's advice and take a couple of buddies with you. It seems you could stay right there in Waco and get the same action.

Anytime you play below your level to entice a bet you are hustling. Although much romanticized and considered just part of the game by many people, it can be detrimental to your health a well being. It's also part of why pool is looked down upon by some in our society much like the biker world! Big money games that are crooked and calcuttas where people dump and the list goes on. And someone starts a thread with Why is pool not recognized and what's wrong with pool today? But heh don't worry, someone will throw a benefit pool tourney for you when you are half beaten to death someday!

lets review a little bit . . .

For starters, yes you were hustling. Doesn't mean that you aren't hustling a better player though, that is the risk you take. The guy offers you the last two locally and backs out in only a few hours. What do you think the odds are of him changing the deal after he has you hooked for a trip to Dallas? How many people have you had beat you 7-2 playing even when you were playing your real game and then you offered the seven out to them?

Only two likely possibilities: He was running off at the mouth after getting in a bad match-up, or you are headed into a deal in Dallas that you aren't gonna like at all when you get there. Go to Dallas and gamble and the odds are you will be headed home a lot poorer and a little wiser.

I'd say you hustled yourself out of your entry fee and possibly a tournament victory, just to win $100. Probably would have won much more in the tournament. Moreover, if you're that confident you can beat the guy....you gave up the tournament to get weight you didn't need.

The tourney was quite small and only 100 for first and three others much better than me that win every time so it was worth it

Your hustling is kind of pathetic really and nothing to be proud of.
He sounds like a guy that just wants some money games.
He isn’t hustling you but if you go to his hometown you may be coming back in pieces.

I agee with what Hu said, and who ever heard of an Asian guy named Jimmy? :)

Tramp makes an excellent point here. I did some research on Yahoo to verify. In the first 2 pages, only a handful of results were for real, live people named Jimmy that were also of Asian descent. I'm thinking he's nicknamed for one of those car slimjims or something, so be careful. (Of course, I also had my search settings on 'Safe' mode!)

Rep to you, sir!

I think the Asian Jimmy was actually a redneck named Bub

I think you lost 4 in a row to him and that it took 2 hours

I think you guys played a race to 7 for a pitcher and a Slim Jim

I believe you did win that set 7-4 and you drank you're 3rd pitcher of the night and put the Slim Jim in your pocket for the ride home

I think Bub is from Hamburgturder TX, not Dallas

I think he invited you to come to his "side of town" and you guys are going to freeze up 20.00 at 2.00 a game.

(the comments above are just guess's, they could be completely off, or spot on. These comments are not those of CaliRed's, but of a professional joke writer for Larry the Cable Guy who ran out of gas near where I live, and asked if I could drive to a gas station to get him some gas and some of those new Wendy's fries on the way back.)

PS.... Just kidding!:D:)

Thank you, sir. Of course, in his native land he could be known as Gee Mi Wang, or something to that effect. :)

I think you were pretty lame for trying to dump a match to get in a cheap set. I think you need to play your game whether you are in a tournament or in action. Believe this bad actions will yield bad results in the long run. You are not doing yourself any favors coming on AZ with your mini trap. Except maybe some bigger game will head your way and maybe you can trap them too.......Ouch.... the sharks all head to Waco to try to win a C-note pick me - trap me there is the Waco Kid errr I think he goes by Chad.

Look around the room. If you can't identify the pigeon, you're it. (In other words, 'if I'm not there.' )
